The Maine du Bost estate is idyllically bordered by several hectares of meadows and forests near the center of Monestier in the beautiful Périgorde.
The country house has 4 bedrooms with their own bathrooms, an exciting main room with gallery and kitchen, several terraces and outdoor spaces as well as a 17 x 4 meter pool and can accommodate families and groups of up to 8 people. A magical place to relax and unwind.
The house was recently renovated from scratch, modernized and redesigned and furnished with high quality materials. Each of the 4 spacious bedrooms has its own bathroom with underfloor heating and its own exit to the garden, where there is additional seating. The huge main room is around 7 meters high, flooded with light and offers, in addition to the luxurious kitchen, seating at the table and couch. There is also an equipped laundry room.
There are several exits to the large covered terrace and the pool deck with its loungers. At the front entrance area there is a small courtyard with additional seating. So there is sun and shade all day long: you can have breakfast in the morning sun, have a glass of rose in the evening at sunset or sleep outside in the midday sun.
The pool and garden are a child's dream. The pool is so deep on one side that you can jump, on the other side it is shallow so that you can play. Parents can swim laps at 17 meters. The garden is so big that you can practice all kinds of sports or go on discovery tours.
There is a lot to do in the closer region. Bergerac is 20 km away, Bordeaux is 82 km away. The beautiful 27 hole golf course Chateau Vigiers can be reached in 10 minutes, the restaurants of Eymet in 20. Countless wineries are in the immediate vicinity and those of the world-famous St. Emilion can be reached in just over 45 minutes. The Périgorde is also very well known for its culinary products.

Summary: Maine du Bost… we booked a last minute break & came across this jewel in the crown. Perfect location - peaceful but within 20 minutes of all the places you would want to visit in Perigor Pourpre. Walking into the property you instantly get a sense of peace & perfection - every detail is well thought out & the open plan space very reminiscent of the perfect French home. Each of the 4 bedrooms are luxurious & comfortable with en-suite & the pool is the piece de resistance. We loved our 7 night stay so much we’re looking to book for a fortnight next year. Thank you to Dorothee for providing such an exceptional home for us to enjoy & regroup and of course Emmanuelle for her attention to detail & going the extra mile.

Summary: We had a fabulous two weeks in the Dordogne, staying in this first class property. Over the last 25 years we have stayed in many houses in France and Italy; this has to be rated as the best. A magnificent house - outstanding in every way. Beautifully laid out and equipped. The pool is superb and the garden lovely. The only issue is location - the house is not near any shops or restaurants and so you have to drive to get any food or to find somewhere to eat or get a drink. That is not unusual in France as the villages lose their boulangeries and bistros, but worth bearing in mind. But, to finish - this is a fabulous house and a fabulous place to stay. Enjoy!

Summary: We had a fantastic week at Monestier this summer, and the property exceeded expectations. The house is generously proportioned, with 4 excellent double bedrooms (all with direct external access and lots of storage). The kitchen is modern and well-equipped, and the huge double-height living area is really exceptional. The property is in a completely private spot, and the pool larger than average and in excellent condition. Overall, the house was amongst the best we’ve stayed in France - a perfect mixture of character and functionality, with everything completed to a really high standard. A lot of care and thought has gone into the house, and it was a pleasure to stay.

Summary: We have been holidaying in France for many years and this is one of the loveliest homes we have stayed in. It had everything we needed and was very well equipped. We had beautiful weather for our stay and made the most of the outside grill and the amazing pool. But if the weather was bad, there was still plenty of indoor space to relax and enjoy without feeling cramped. The beds were extremely comfortable. It’s not often it seems nicer than the one at home. Dorothee (owner) and Emmanuelle (housekeeper) were both easy to deal with and friendly. It is a beautiful area to visit. We found a local boulengerie that was excellent, as are the supermarkets. We visited St Emillion and Montbazillac. Both lovely. We would love to come back

Summary: We were a group of 7 adults and this property was perfect for us. Beautifully appointed, cool, light and airy with high quality fixtures and fittings and plenty of kitchen equipment for keen cooks to make best use of lovely local ingredients. Very comfortable superking beds in all bedrooms and 4 bath/shower rooms were ideal since we were a group of cyclists who certainly needed a shower after hot rides in the lovely countryside. Really good sized pool that got a lot of use, and it was superb to eat supper on the shady roofed patio. An even prettier setting than it looks online, and very extensive grounds. Good laundry facilities and plenty of room to store our bikes. Recomended without hesitation.

Summary: A beautiful and superbly appointed property where we enjoyed a fantastic week. Pool, outside areas, lively kitchen and idyllic surroundings all contributed to a great stay. We had mixed weather but there is plenty to do and see in the area so we were entertained as well as enjoying relaxing at the house. Thank you very much.

Summary: The setting, the house, the decor, the swimming pool, the location - all were perfect. Each room had a luxurious en suite bathroom and all parts of the house were immaculate. Little details like all crockery and cutlery matching make all the difference (to me anyway), and even the decking by the pool, the shutters, cushions and stone work all follow a similar colour palette which really makes you feel SUPER relaxed. At 17 metres, the pool is ideal for swimming lengths , and the surrounding garden was a perfect for playing a little boules! The property is surrounded by vineyards and is a perfect distance to nearby attractions like Eyemet, Bergerac and Duras, not to mention the golf course just 10 minutes drive away. I would go back to this place in a heartbeat - it's just stunning!!!
