Nestled in the heart of the 'Isle of Joy', in amongst the ancient alleyways of the old capital, is this fully self-catering, first-floor, one-bedroom apartment with all modern amenities. Enjoy the magical pedestrian heart of old Rabat in this lovingly converted 100 yo Gozo townhouse with an abundance of traditional features that will take you back in time. Just 50 metres from the Basilica of St George and its fabulously vibrant square with cafes, bars, restaurants, museums all at your doorstep.
'Magic in the Heart of Gozo' is an architect owned, 100 year-old, authentic Gozo townhouse that has been converted into three one-bedroom apartments over three floors.
The place has an abundance of traditional features: patterned hand-made floor tiles, soaring ceilings, timber beams, hand-made wrought iron railings and natural golden-stone walls that will take you back in time while you immerse yourself in the heart of this ancient vibrant town.
All apartments have been designed to be fully self-catering with all modern amenities including full kitchen (oven/hob/dishwasher), orthopaedic mattresses, independent bathroom/shower, AC throughout.
This is the first floor suite which occupies the entire first floor. It has an independent bedroom and separate ensuite bathroom. A sofa bed in the living area is available for additional guests.

The First Floor suite shares its street entrance with just one other one-bedroom apartment making it very private, quiet and secure.
The suite has its own private closed traditional verandah overlooking the ancient winding street below. It has access to two other levels of outdoor roof spaces/sundecks with views over town. These spaces are common and shared with the other single-bedroom (penthouse) apartment in the same building.
It also has access to a shared washing machine/dryer/ironing facilities.
Guests will be able to access all common parts of the property (entrance/ground floor lobby/ two levels of outdoor spaces/sundeck).

Summary: We enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment down the street from Saint George’s square. Close to restaurants and not far from the bus station. Clean and lots of space for the two of us.

Summary: A fabulous location behind the basilica. We could walk to the square for cafés, the bus station was only 5 mins away, the main shopping street not far, the TI just around the corner. Actually everything on Gozo is not far from anywhere! Claude was really helpful suggesting activities that we should do, and checked in with us halfway through our stay. He answered all our questions.

Summary: Home sweet home, such a great place. We were worried about our start in Gozo as we started our trip with a stay at Casa Barone and that turned out to be a disaster. What comfort and relief to check-in to “Magic in the Heart of Old Gozo.” We absolutely loved this property, and our host Claude. Terrific location, walking distance to St. Georges Square, St George Basilica, and the Cittadella. No lack of restaurants in and around St. George’s Square and Independence Square. You must try Il Panzier across the street from the apartment. The property is clean, quite, and charming. Perfect for 2 people. Claude, our host, was best of class. Helpful, informative, accommodating, and generous. When we checked in, he left a welcome “basket” of goodies. A bottle of wine, cheese, pancetta, crackers, water bottles … we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Loved having breakfast in the dining nook area. It was a perfect stay.

Summary: What a wonderful place to stay, graced with gorgeous antique cement tiles and decorated like someone's real home and not just a "rental." Claude was the friendliest and most helpful host in our messages (he kept alerting me to Malta's changing Covid restrictons!) and his sister Edwina, who wound up checking us in because Claude was out of town, was awesome -- she even picked up and delivered my passport that I'd left in Senglea! Two thumbs way up! A small microwave and some extra towels and bed pillows would take the property from a 98% to 100% (meaning, rent it anyway, you'll love it!)

Summary: We had the best time during our stay on Gozo and at this location! Claude is super nice and even showed us the area with good restaurants when we arrived! Everything in this apartment was literally meant to give us the feeling of a relaxing holiday. Even the neighbors were all helpful and nice. Summed up: Super host, super apartment, super stay!

Summary: We enjoyed our stay immensely. We were met and taken through property and advised how everything worked and of local attractions. We rode to all of the attractions by bus, the bus stop only 4 minutes walk away and tickets are useable for 2 hours. Lots of beautiful places to visit.

Summary: Really, really loved staying at this property, it had great character. Claude was a great host. He left us food enough for the two days that we stayed there (we also ate at recommended nearby restaurants). We liked the location near the St. George's square where so much was happening in our few days there, we even saw a wedding on Saturday and church procession on Sunday. There was a lot of sightseeing around the Citadel and lots of places to eat nearby. Buses were also convenient to go around Gozo as the apartment was close to the bus station. Had a super vacation.
