Positive: Thank you for a fantastic stay at Machaan Wilderness Lodge. It exceeded all our expectations. We stayed in a Luxury "yurt", which was spacious and had everything we needed, with a fantastic shower and big bathroom, plus a brilliant deck looking out over the grassland and forest. Perfect for watching the birds and hearing the sounds of the forest. You feel very much part of nature here, with an in-house naturalist (Peter - who was great) taking us on an early morning bird-spotting walk, and a tour to Iruppu Falls, pointing out local birds and butterflies and giving us loads of fascinating background. They also helped us organise a couple of safaris, including taking us and picking us up. The safaris were great, with lots wildlife and bird sightings - an excellent spotter/driver who was extremely knowledgeable. No big cats for us, but lots of other people saw them, so we were just a bit unlucky. All the staff were friendly, attentive and made our stay brilliant. No-one was without a smile for us. The food was excellent- including lots of regional specialities, and exceptionally generous Indian breakfasts. We will miss it very much!

Positive: The location is amazing! Just at the edge of the forest, the only sounds you hear are birds. Simply gorgeous! The wilderness staff member was super informative and helpful. He gave us details on some super nice bike rides and even sent us a google maps itinerary for it!

Positive: After travelling around other regions of India for a few weeks, Machaan felt like a quiet, serene, paradise island! The perfect place to relax and unwind. The wildlife you can see by just staying in the property is immense and with the Naturalist’s walks and guides, you learn so much during your stay. The restaurant staff and food were also incredible. We also did the waterfall, tea plantation and wild swimming with picnic excursion which we both really enjoyed - it was a private excursion and we were treated like VIPs the whole time. We loved every second of our stay.

Negative: Nothing!

Summary: An amazing experience with loads of wildlife, amazing service, and excellent facilities!

Positive: The property is beautiful and the staff is very polite and makes your stay extra special. The food is amazing and they went above and beyond to pack us sandwiches as we were leaving before breakfast. Gautham and Shreyas took care of every request we made. Will definitely visit again.

Negative: The room should have one mirror and toiletries should be properly provided. In our room we had two bottles of shampoo and conditioner but no shower gel and inspite of repeated request for shower gel, we could not make the housekeeping staff understand. We were travelling with our own supplies so it wasn't much of an issue
