Summary: The house and views were amazing. It was a wonderfully relaxing retreat after a few busy days in Kona. I would highly recommend for anybody who is looking to decompress and relax. If you are traveling with young kids, I would point out that is more of a small compound, where the bedrooms are all close to each other but some of their entrances are outside of the primary house, but it is very conveniently set-up. It was perfect for our family who absolutely loved the place and the beautiful environment/views.

Summary: This property is STUNNING. We wanted ocean views, and Bali Kai delivered!! We were fortunate to be among the guests that spied humpback whales in the distance while sipping our coffee -- no need to book a separate tour!Our group was a small family reunion (two families and a grandparent). I wouldn't bring very small children here, because of the cliffside location, but our 9 and 10 year olds had a healthy respect for the boundaries. You know your people best, for sure.The mix of rooms was perfect, allowing family units to be together without being in each other's business all the time, while still having beautiful communal spaces for food and socializing.Speaking of food -- this was the best equipped kitchen I've ever had in a rental. We love to cook, and we had absolutely everything at our fingertips. The thoughtful provisioning extended to beach gear such as towels and chairs and everything needed to do some laundry after a few days of playing hard. Kate was a wonderful host, pointing us to lots of fun activities and sightseeing. We hated to leave, but we left refreshed and relaxed!

Summary: Everything about our stay was AMAZING! Everything was as described. Our family loved the open air home with patio and views. We spent significant time out on the patio watching the sunrise, looking at the stars, listening to the waves, and whale watching. Kate was a fabulous host. Everything we needed was there and she also provided great suggestions and connections, including an outstanding masseuse who came to the house. We have zero complaints and hope to stay here again in the future.

Summary: Did not enjoy the abundance of geckos in house. Difficult to tell what light switch was for which light. Missing screens made it hard to enjoy the sea breeze without leaving doors open. Otherwise nice home on beautiful property.
