A Puntos is a traditional French farmhouse with amazing mountain views, private heated pool all set within a very large landscaped garden.
Sitting on the edge of the sleepy hamlet of Mont de Marrast in the Gers, A Puntos is a modernised Gascon farmhouse which retains many of its original features including oak beams, floorboards, floor tiles and fireplaces.
The property is accessed by a long private driveway and set in 2.5 acres of gardens. Facing due south and on a high on a ridge, both the house and the swimming pool bask in daylong sunshine and command fabulous, uninterrupted views of the Pyrenees.
There is exclusive use of 10 x 5 metre pool, with Roman steps, which is surrounded by a paved area that has 8 sun loungers. There is also a shaded pergola with a rattan seating area where you can cool off, have a drink or just sit back, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Pool heating has been installed, as with a pool alarm and there is a thermal blanket to keep the pool warm at night.
A Puntos has a covered terrace with seating for 8 which is accessed by French doors from the kitchen. It is raised above the garden, shaded and has wonderful views toward the south of the Gers and the mountains. This is perfect for a sunny breakfast or a more shaded lunch or dinner with friends and family.
There is also a herb garden, a traditional weber charcoal BBQ alongside a large Gas Barbecue. There is an additional another outdoor table that will seat 8 and a separate seating area for relaxing.
The kitchen has a traditional large French table with seating for 8 and is equipped to a high standard with a wood stove, separate oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, American style fridge freezer and a large washing machine. There is also a Sonos sound system in the kitchen and a new SAGE expresso coffee machine.
The lounge has a 45 inch HD smart TV, British Freesat, DVD player and Amazon HD FireStick alongside an internet MESH system which provides full internet coverage across the property which has enough bandwidth to easily stream films on multiple devices access to Netflix or Amazon Prime. There is also a selection of books, DVDs and games available which includes an outdoor petanque and croquet set.
There are 4 comfortable, spacious and well equipped bedrooms (4 king sized beds) along with modernised bathrooms on each floor, one of which has a large walk in shower room.

Summary: We spent a fantastic 2 weeks at A Puntos. The house, gardens, views and pool were incredible and were a wonderful base for our stay. We were 2 families with 4 young children between us.Graeme and Kirsty were very accommodating and communication was brilliant and very helpful. The house is very well equipped (though maybe a few more plastic glasses, plates and bowls would be good with kids in mind) and the Decor etc has obviously been done with lots of love and care. It really felt like a home from home. Location wise it is a bit further of a drive than we’re used to but all well worth it. The local village was also only 10min drive And really lovely. They had a summer fair on while we were there which the kids loved. We Did canoeing in mirande, a visit to peak du midi, some road cycling in the Pyrenees and visited the animal park near Lourdes which was a big hit with the kids. Such was beautiful and the jazz festival in Marcia’s was fun too. So lots to do and see as well as being able to enjoy lazy days soaking up the sun and views by the pool. Thank you Graeme and Kirsty for a fantastic holiday.

Summary: The farmhouse is beautifully renovated, the kitchen is well equipped, all mod-cons, great wifi. The pool is fantastic! The location is relatively remote, in a peaceful spot nestled between two very small villages. The local town (Tries) has everything you need for daily essentials, butcher, bakers, grocers, plus an Intermarche. For larger supermarkets (hypermarkets), various options are further afield near Auch or Tarbes. Grand Frais in Tarbes was fun. There are plenty of fantastic local markets, we enjoyed Mirande and the huge market at Lannemezan, which also seems to have some good restaurant options. Marciac is a beautiful town, and a must when the Jazz festival is on, there's lots to see and free music in the main square and a few other locations in town. We enjoyed some trips to the nearby Castelnau-Magnoac which has a good little market, a reservoir with pedalos (about 5km walk around it), and a fantastic bakery/patisserie La P'tite Boheme We made a couple of day trips to the Pyrenees, although most destinations in the mountains are a couple of hours drive each way. Graeme and Kirsty stay next door (next house along) and were never intrusive but were available to help when we needed it, and have a wealth of local knowledge to share. Thanks both for helping make it an awesome and memorable holiday for all of us!

Summary: Many times in the past we have been disappointed on arrival at a house that has sounded perfect in the advertising, but not this time. For us this was the perfect spot. It is a beautifully appointed house in a wonderful position. Lying by the pool in complete silence looking out across farmland to the Pyrenees, is all we did and all that we wanted to do. There is, of course, plenty of good eating in the pretty villages around - Marciac and Bassoues, for example - and the usual excellent markets for various foods. The house is very well equipped with every gadget and device - good dishwasher, good washing machine, good TV, good lighting and excellent bathrooms. Outside there is a beautiful pool with high quality pool furniture all set in a large garden. What more can I say?

Summary: We spent a very relaxing and peaceful week at this wonderful old farmhouse. It's in a great location and has stunning views of the Pyrenees from the amazing swimming pool where we spent a lot of time due to the fantastic weather. The farmhouse itself is full of character, is very well equipped and very clean. We particularly enjoyed dining on the terrace in the evenings with a cold beer. We made trips to local markets, to Pic du Midi and also the Cirque de Gavarnie.

Summary: Welcoming owners, comfortable house, stylish decoration, practical kitchen and dining arrangements, a delightful garden, fig tree full of figs, wonderful pool, fabulous views. I recommend this property to anyone. We were 6 adults and two young children. We particularly enjoyed the pizza oven and barbecue, everything was thought of. There was plentiful supply of good crockery and equipment in the kitchen, which makes catering so much easier. Graeme and Kirsty are very welcoming and gave good recommendations for things to do in the area, including trips to the nearby towns for supplies, markets, sightseeing. Also walks from the house. We had a great time and would not hesitate to return and recommend A Puntos to others.

Summary: We rented A Puntos for 6 weeks in the summer of 2018 for us and our 2 boys (age 4 and 9). The boys loved the grounds and the pool (which were immaculate) and we spent many fun filled days lazing by the pool, sauntering up to the house for leisurely lunches on the covered veranda, then quiet evening watching the stars - I have never see so many. Graeme was fantastic, sorting out any issues (such as empty gas bottle) almost immediately and always on hand to answer any questions. There is lots to do nearby, we went to pic du midi, le petit train d'Artouste, even down to San Sebastian. There are some great restaurants nearly we particularly liked Ferme AUBERGE DE Puydarieux which is great for small kids as they have a little play area, and the Racine Restaurant near Tillac. If you are there when the Jazz Festival is on in Marciac then that's an absolute must - lots of craft fairs and pop up restaurants as well as the music. In all a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.

Summary: This was our second visit to this beautiful place. We are a family of six, and A Puntos has everything to offer. We enjoyed fantastic weather the full week we were there and spent every day at the beautiful pool. The gardens are well maintained and the children enjoyed running around in the meadow next to the farmhouse. Graeme was on site to help us use the pizza oven and even helped us cook a few! He advised us on possible outings in the local area to entertain the children, however we never made it to any of them as the pool was too inviting! The house and pool were absolutely spotless, and we would recommend this beautiful place to anyone. We are already looking forward to our next visit to Mont de Marrast!

Summary: We loved our stay at A Puntos! The farmhouse was wonderful and clean, great appliances and fantastic gardens and swimming pool. Graeme was on hand for an questions and maintained the pool daily to its wonderful standard. We traveled with our 3 year old son and paid extra for heating the pool which was worth every penny. The wonderful location and view of the Pyrenees on a clear day is absolutely stunning! There were 2 circular routes to walk with our son and my husband enjoyed daily morning runs around the town. The Intermarche supermarket at Trie was very useful and we enjoyed our daily trips to near by markets which are clearly listed in Graeme's handbook. Thank you for a wonderful stay we will look back on our holiday with great memories and hopefully we will be able to return again one day!! Sam, Stuart & Robbie x

Summary: This is a comfortable house to stay in - 3 couples from New Zealand had a good time here. Really good to have the pool with the weather being so hot. Graeme was very helpful and provided good information about the area. No doubt everyone will be enjoying Tour de France fever very shortly!
