Summary: This is truly a getaway. Beautiful house, great view, and an artist touch. Marni was communicative and helpful. House had everything needed for cooking and laundry. Definitely recommend!

Summary: Brought our daughters to this place - special to us after the earthquake - and had the most wonderful family vacation. Spectacular spot with breathtaking views in the coziest of artsy homes around! Pinecone Landing is the perfect vacation spot. My favorite part was the cacophony of the coyote choir in the distant canyon. And Marni, the host is warm and lovely in every way. Thank you for a great stay! We'll be back for sure! Summary: My husband and I are enjoying our honeymoon in So-Cal and booked a night at Marni's place while here. Our North Carolina mountains have NOTHING on this home! Marni was a warm host who gave excelled directions, had the coziest bed, and also sent us to a wonderful breakfast location. I would highly recommend booking this home for anyone who is awed my nature & appreciates the lovely hosts of VRBO.

Summary: Our family felt the warm welcome from Marni. The house is really clean and has basically everything that we needed. The night start view is awesome. The only thing that I was a bit disappointed was that we cannot see the lake water from the house. The part of the we can see from the house is dried up. I guess it is due to the recent extreme dry weather.

Summary: The Pinecone Landing Retreat provided a delightful stay in the Kernville/Lake Isabella area. From our first contact, host Marni was welcoming and responsive to all queries. She gave precise and accurate instructions for finding the location - necessary given that Google Maps is not up to date in this lovely area. A lovely and generous gift was left for us upon arrival. All (very minor) issues were addressed very promptly during our stay. We felt like cherished houseguests despite this being our first visit! The home itself sits near the top of an otherwise wild mountaintop with a looping lane perfect for long dog walks and stargazing. I saw lots of birds, some deer, and a coyote on my first morning walk. The expansive deck has a lovely view of both the rugged local canyon and the upper Kern as it enters Lake Isabella. The only other nearby home has quiet, friendly, and helpful neighbors. Both other homes within sight (downhill) are weekend homes that are rarely used. Several nice seating areas are provided on the deck and downstairs patios. A built-in wooden gate on the midway stair landing keeps dogs from straying from the deck. The home has efficient air conditioning, but the canyon breezes make evening, night, and morning temperatures very comfortable in early summer. The main living space is a fantastic open living room/dining room/modern kitchen set up with a wall of windows opening onto the deck. The large TV and internet work fine. The house has one master bedroom suite per floor. The upstairs master has deck access. Its bath has a large tub with a private view of the canyon and mountainside. The lower floor bedroom has a door opening onto the patio. A modern washer/dryer worked well for us, and laundry soap is provided. This split arrangement is perfect for two couples or adult family traveling together. From this location, a 15 minute drive brings you to either the upper or lower Kern for world-class rafting/kayaking (or tubing on the upper Kern). French Gulch Marina provides good services for Lake Isabella. Amazing picnic sites line the upper Kern. Roads branch off to Sherman Pass - paved access to the Kern Plateau, Monache Meadows, and Kennedy Meadows area, and the Mountain Road 99 access to a very impressive giant Sequoia grove at the Trail of the 100 Giants. A one hour drive leads to CA 14 at Ridgecrest - gateway to the Eastern Sierra . We hope to return frequently!

Summary: My family loved staying at this clean, comfortable home up in the mountain. Marni had a lovely welcome gift for us. Everything was as it was described, and even better. Fully equipped kitchen. Super relaxing. We came up for a weekend of Whitewater River Raing but got so much more. I highly recommend Pinecone Landing!
