This newly built shining villa has a simple mix of scandinavian/sicilian design through out. Attention to details and space makes every room comfortable and charming. Kitchen and grill area are very well equipped. The outdoor spaces are spacious, well thought out and cosy. The hot tub Jacuzzi, the heated swimming pool, the central cooling/heating system and ventilation makes the house very livable and comfortable through out any season.
It offers fully equipped kitchen and BBQ area, laundry facilities in the house, sheets and towels included.

Summary: My wife’s dream since she was a little girl was to go to Italy. For our honeymoon, we made a compromise. We could go to Italy as long as we spent no more than half the time sightseeing. We decided to stay four days in Rome and were looking for another place to stay in Sicily for a week for the relaxation portion of the trip. Now, I must preface this by saying I am extremely picky. We had a travel agent check for hotels and resorts in Sicily and none of them seemed appealing. I then stumbled across Lalla’s property and showed it to my wife. We both agreed that it looked spectacular so we decided to book it. As beautiful as the place looks in the pictures, it is even better in person. The views are nothing short of spectacular at all times of the day. The pool and outdoor seating areas were also comfortable and very nice. The inside of the villa was extremely clean, well-appointed, and had everything you needed to relax. It had a nice bluetooth speaker, flatscreen TV, and Wi-Fi that worked the entire time. It was also equipped with high-end appliances and cookware. The location of the villa is also perfect. It is secluded on the side of a mountain but is just a short fifteen minute drive down the mountain to a local market that has amazing food, many types of alcohol, and anything else you might need. You can also get to almost all of the major attractions and cities on the northwest coast of the island (Segesta, Erice, San Vito Lo Capo, Custonaci, Castellammare del Golfo, Palermo) within 40 minutes. The closest town, Scopello, was about fifteen minutes away. About one mile away from the aforementioned market there are three excellent restaurants in the Scopello town square. In addition to the villa itself and the location being perfect, Lalla also couldn’t have been more accommodating. She is extremely polite, accessible, and was willing to help with anything that we needed. The bottom line is if you book this villa you will not regret it. We were already trying to figure out how we could get back before we even left!

Summary: We had never been to Sicily before but have Sicilian friends who have recommended it. We spent a relaxing 6 days this half term in the most beautiful house surrounded by stunning scenery. We arrived very late but Dick was there to meet us and show us the way up the mountain. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast, meat, cheese, fruit, beer and wine were there to greet us so we relaxed straight away. The attention to detail was amazing. We have stayed in lots of houses in different countries but this was, by far, the most welcoming. Thank you so much

Summary: We had a fantastic holiday in this absolutely beautiful villa with our two young sons. The design is impeccable, the landscaping, lighting, styling, attention to detail - all incredible yet the house is still homely & comfortable. It's the best equipped kitchen & villa we've ever stayed in. Dick and Lalla have thought of everything and they couldn't be more charming, kind hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and they were vey helpful with tips on places to eat & visit. But to be honest, we hardly left the villa - why would you? The photos, believe it or not, don't do the villa & views justice. In reality, its even more breathtaking - the ever changing view of the bay & surrounding landscape is absolutely spectacular. We enjoyed peace & quiet with no neighbours close by which was lovely. For us, the swimming pool and the outdoor kitchen were the absolute highlights. Thanks for a wonderful week. Summary: There are hundreds of ways to craft a review of this truly exceptional place. We planned our entire Italy trip around our week at La Villa La and it truly lived up to the hype. Everything was basically perfect and conducive to a truly restorative week in a magical part of Europe: the views, the pool, the house facilities (bathroom, grill, kitchen, etc). Our children loved their time there too. It's a ten-minute drive to a fantastic market for all of your needs and well situated in northwest Sicily. The hosts, Lalla and Dick, were lovely and responsive throughout our week -- you feel actually supported while you're there. This seems to be the essence of what homeaway.com is all about.

Summary: This new villa was the most perfect hideout we have had in years. The essentials were more than good: excellent bed, great kitchen with complete equipment and beautiful bathroom, superclean bed linnen and lovely bath towels. The heated pool with shower and sunbeds are ideal for sunbathing and relaxing. In the evening the outside lighting is really spectacular and the design of the house gives an overall feeling of exclusivity, as if the spectacular view on Castellamare is not enough... Even the welcoming package was more then expected with local specialities. Nearby Scopello was also very romantic, with a lovely square and some nice lounge bars and restaurants (dont miss famous Tonnara di Scopello!). The house is an ideal starting point for visiting West Sicily: Erice, Trapani, Marsala, hiking in Zingharo and Monte Cofano nature reserve and even Selinunte in the South. The owners made us feel very welcome and can provide many tips for the surrounding area. Thank you for the perfect stay! Marcel & Annette.

Summary: We totally join in Stuart’s description of this amazing villa and location. Everything is true, from the perfectly equipped and maintained house which does not leave any open wishes, via the pool which the kids rarely left - mostly for taking food prepared at dad’s most famous place, the BBQ – to the garden which shows the great enthusiasm of Leila and Dick for design and lovely details. The view from the villa over the entire bay of Castellamare del Golfo is extraordinary and overwhelming, both at day and night !! Besides that, we like to highlight their great hospitality starting with a very warm welcome, a full introduction to all facilities and helping us out with the first breakfast. They supported us with very useful information around daily supplies, restaurants and interesting “must dos” in the area around. Definitely you have to rent a rubber boat in Castellamare and explore the near coast and bays – no license required, not expensive and great fun !! We spent an unforgettably beautiful time in Sicilia. Thank you again, Leila & Dick !!! … and we like to come back once again ….

Summary: Lalla and Dick have created the perfect holiday idyll and have thought of everything. The house is beautiful, simple and elegant with everything you need, from very comfortable beds to an immaculate and well equipped kitchen (2 if you include the outdoor kitchen bbq area). The views are fantastic and ever changing, as the house and pool overlook the bay. The outside areas are beautifully designed and lit for use long in to the evenings. It was hard to tear ourselves away from the house to visit all the wonderful sites around this western part of Sicily. But when we did: Hire a boat from Castellammare to potter along the coves of the Zingaro Nature Reserve (avoiding the packed beaches) for wonderful snorkelling; For an ancient history fix visit Segesta, and senrnultnite. The beautiful city of Masala for a taste of its produce and the salt pans up the coast at sun set. Lots to do if you feel the need. But very easy and delightful to just stay put.

Summary: This is without doubt the best villa we have ever stayed in. It is really well designed, clean, and has everything in it to make your stay perfect. The villa is very private and perched on the side of a mountain with views to the sea that take your breath away. The pool is beautiful and is not over powered by chemicals. There is an outside cooking/eating/BBQ area that has its own sink and fridge. The whole villa is air conditioned and very controllable and quiet so it's great for sleeping. All the beds are extremely comfortable and we all slept like babies every night. There is also lots to see and do in this part of Sicily from old ruins, to beautiful traditional towns to sandy beaches. There is also the most amazing Italian market/deli/shop/cafe/bar/butchers just a 5 minute drive away that has fantastic Italian food and really friendly staff. My wife and two children have already stating many times that this was our best holiday ever! Thank you Dick & Leila for letting us share your amazing home, you have given us memories that we will all have forever x
