The Loft at Lane's Cove is a top floor, front to back unit with separate Queen bedroom and bath. Exposed high wood ceilings, skylight and wall of sliding glass doors keeps this unit bright and open while imparting a truly relaxing feeling. All walls are freshly painted in muted coastal colors and most of the furnishings are new 2013. The Loft has a European-style air conditioning wall unit, a ceiling fan in the bedroom and one in the living room. Recent 2022/2023 renovations include a new bathroom, new deck and deck furniture and new Nectar Queen mattress!!
Newly refinished beautiful hardwood floors throughout with tile in the kitchen and eating area. Enjoy dinner for two with views of the cove or relax with cocktails on the private balcony while watching the activity of the Lanes Cove.
A full kitchen offers a complete array of Calphalon pots, pans, casserole dishes, pasta/lobster pots and cooking utensils. With plenty of storage for food, the kitchen also includes a dishwasher, oven/cooktop, microwave, coffee maker and Keurig Single cup, toaster, mini food processor and Brita water pitcher.
Tastefully decorated with coastal furniture, Pottery Barn linens and Claire Murray rugs. Flat screen TV (wall hung), DVD player, high speed internet, landline and stereo also included.
Apartment comes with a great supply of sundries, including paper towels, TP, garbage bags, aluminum foil, saran wrap, baggies, coffee filters, EVOU, vinegar, S&P, etc. and other necessary items. Ask us for a complete list!
Unit has two private entrances on side of building through privacy gate. Inside entrance has wood landing and carpeted stairs. Outside back staircase leads down to first floor owner's deck as a second egress. Beach chairs, beach umbrella and cooler are also available for your use.
The Loft at Lane's Cove is located on the top floor of what was once the old Lanesville 'Engine House', in the heart of the Village. The first floor of the building has been a restaurant, antique store and a private residence. It is now the owner's private office space, used only during the week. The top floor unit remains quiet and private.
Step out your door into the morning sunshine and grab a cup of coffee, pastry(or lunch) and newspaper at Cove Cafe three doors down. The post office, Prana Salon and the Lanesville Package Store, which offers a great selection of wine,
beer and other food items, like gourmet marinated steak tips, round out the rest of Washington Street.
Ample street parking, usually right in front, makes access to unit easy. The CATA bus stops in front of the post office making travel around Cape Ann easy and effortless.

Summary: Enjoyed our time there, easy jumping off point to explore local area and towns nearby. My only very minor issues are that the property pictures should be updated to reflect the current situation. The picture on the back deck leaves the impression you can see the ocean, you cannot, sadly the tree has grown enough to block that view. The other is that wine is part of your welcoming. We had none. Minor issues certainly, otherwise great place!

Summary: Quiet and comfortable apartment. Well furnished stocked with everything you could need. Great location… walk to plum cove for a swim and lanes cove for sunsets. A package store for some food items as well as liquor and a bakery a few steps from apartment. We really enjoyed our stay here

Summary: Beautiful place, Excellent for two people. Far enough from Gloucester center to be away from the hubbub. Is on a bus line, and taxi service is available, so that you may enjoy Gloucester without having to worry about parking. There is a small cafe that makes incredible sandwiches, pastry, coffee and breakfasts which is a local favorite. A liquor store is also within a minute walk away. There is a local beach that is within a five-minute walk, and as a bonus there are beautiful sunsets to be seen at the beach. The Vrbo has air conditioning but may not be necessary as a nice breeze can be felt if the screened door on the balcony is left open. We loved this place and will return.

Summary: We loved the beautiful little Loft Everything was well thought out to maximize use of this small unit. It was conveniently located close to the Cove Cafe where we picked up breakfast pastries and delicious sandwiches for our beach picnics at Plum Cove, Wingaersheek and Long Beach. The Lanesville Package Store was an easy walk to pick up snacks and wine. Walking down the hill to Lanes Cove was wonderful for sunsets and brought back many memories of time spent there during my early summers. This one is a keeper!

Summary: This is our 3rd time staying at The Loft. We love it… great location and easy space to live in. We’ll be back! Diane was totally available with answers to questions and accommodating our needs. We loved walking rain to the Harbor for sunsets and kayaking. The quarry is close for a serene place to swim and the best beach is only 15minutes. Couldn’t be better!

Summary: I grew up in central Ma and live in RI now. I have been all over MA for weekend stays but never made it to the North Shore. This was my favorite vacation by far. The loft was in a great location - a five minute walk to a lovely resident only beach where we spent an afternoon and then stopped again at sunset to see the most beautiful sunset I have seen in ages. The actual accommodations were wonderful. Clean, comfortable and in a very safe area. Dianne the host was great and offered a suggestion for dinner at Tonno which was some of the best seafood we have ever had. We loved the loft and we will definitely be back to visit!!
