GROUND FLOOR LIVING The ground floor comprises a fantastic open-plan living area with comfy sofas, a magnificent stone fireplace with a wood-burning stove, a dining table seating over 16, a superb designer kitchen with two, two door ovens, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, wine cooler, air fryer, slow cooker, and granite work surfaces. A recent addition is a fantastic conservatory / garden room. There is a cloakroom with toilet and wash basin, plus a utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer. The cottage has underfloor heating, finished with lovely, tiled floors, rugs, contemporary furnishings and decorations.
GROUND FLOOR SLEEPING To the left of the hallway are two spacious bedrooms. The first is a double bedroom with a single profilind bed. The en-suite has both a bath and level access shower. The second has a double and a single bed. The large en-suite has a wet-room style walk-in shower area, which is wheelchair and disabled friendly. It has a large washbasin that you can actually get a wheelchair under and a large, illuminated mirror that comes down to the basin, so that you can see yourself in it, whilst in a wheelchair. We have also installed stylish grab-rails by the toilet and a large fold-down seat within the shower.
FIRST FLOOR The first floor comprises a large family bedroom, containing a superking-size bed, and a single bed, with en-suite shower room. There are also 2 double bedrooms – one with an en-suite shower room and the other with an en-suite bathroom. The sleeping accommodation is completed by a spacious triple bedroom (with three single beds), with an en-suite shower room, plus there is a small single bedroom especially suitable for a child.
COTTAGE GARDEN To the rear of the cottage is a raised decked area, looking out into woodland with outdoor dining furniture and a private garden where you will see and hear the resident woodpeckers! We have recently added a hot tub which creates an ideal spot in which to enjoy the afternoon sun and sunsets. We have also added an outdoor bar area at the side of the cottage, including outdoor fridge, BBQ and Pizza oven. This offers great views across to the coast and towards the Lake District, and a huge fire-pit built into a seating area at the front.

Summary: Trying to find somewhere big enough and with wet room facilities is always a challenge. Woodpecker cottage ticked all the boxes. Tha accessible bathrooms on the ground floor are perfect. The layout is great as is location. What a difference it makes when you don't have to try to find logs for the fire. Everything is there. Hopefully we can return when the weather improves. All round fabulous place with very helpful owners.

Summary: The Woodpecker Cottage was absolutely perfect as the main get together event, due to its access, ground floor en-suite bedroom for my elderly parents, no steps except the conservatory, which they easily managed We had 4 of the beautiful cottages and this accommodated all our needs Have stayed before with a smaller group and will certainly stay again and as a family we are looking at maybe a summer month, as the surroundings and a trip to the village would be ideal on a sunny day

Summary: We LOVED our holiday at Woodpecker. Both for 2 of us for a few days peace and quiet and for 14 of us when our family arrived to celebrate a big birthday. Everything we needed was there for a fabulous time. Already recommended to several people we know with mobility problems

Summary: This is a very comfortable, spacious, and well-equipped cottage, with great host communication. It was perfect for our family gathering over New Year, with one of the great assets being all the en-suite bathrooms. Lovely rural location with great walks locally and further afield. The only negative I can think of is the constant hum from the M6, which is a very minor point.

Summary: We had a really enjoyable stay at Woodpecker Cottage. We were celebrating a 60th birthday and 60th anniversary, there was plenty of room for all 13 family members inside the property and we enjoyed the outside space using all the facilities. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need. The bedrooms/bedding/towels all lovely and clean. We would recommend a stay at this property.
