4 Bedroom Apartment in Chateau-d'Oex, La Soldanelle

Overlooking Gstaad valley. Luxury south facing 19th century, contemporary spacious well equipped apartment. Terrace for alfresco dining.15 mins drive to Gstaad, 1.45hr to Geneve, 2 mins to town centre. Pool, sauna ,steamroom, gym, excellent skiing, free wifi.
Bedrooms are modernly furnished , with parquet flooring, orthopedic mattresses, Egyptian cotton bedlinen provided. Bedroom 1 and 4 with ensuite bath/shower rooms. Bedroom 1 also has a balcony. This apartment can be used for a maximum of 8 people. It can also be rented at a lower rate for 6 people (please enquire). All bathrooms are newly refurbished as is the apartment. Tiled in ivory coloured marble and are equipped with power showers. Well equipped kitchen with full range of cooking utensils and ample crockery.
Shared Facilities include swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room , fitness room, massage room, games room, fondue room, terrace with garden furniture, sunning area, shared lounge with self serving bar and honesty box, lift, parking, boot + ski room, computer, internet access. shared laundry with washing machines and dryers.
Chateau d'Oex is in many ways the quintessential Swiss alpine resort. Nestled on the South side of a valley amongst the French speaking Alps. The town is the picture of a quaint ski village. To the west is the famous cheese making town of Gruyere and approx 15 minutes drive to the east the glamorous town of Gstaad. The apartment is just 400m from the town centre in a quiet, sunny, elevated position, in a quiet cul-de-sac, south facing, with views over the town. The property has a balcony where one can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the alpine scenery in both summer and winter. Chateaux doex provides year round fun with numerous activities for all. The town has a large co op supermarket with a good range to select from, plus a couple of lovely local bakeries. There are several good restaurants in the town, La Gare which offers steaks on a stone, La Poste, another restaurant serving good local foods and The Bear which also has a great menu.
2 hour train ride from Geneva and 2.5 hour train ride from Basel.
A Superb ski region with 250 km pistes, 66 lifts/cable ways and nurseries. Nearest piste with cable car under 10 mins drive , ski school 400m. Glacier 3000 40 minute drive usually open for skiing Nov to June. Other slopes within 15 minutes driving distance.

Summer Activities: A beautiful pre-Alpine walking area lies south of Château-d'Oex: La Pierreuse, the largest nature conservation area in western Switzerland contains rock areas, forests, abundant flora and flat moors. For both leading bikers and amateurs, the Pays-d'Enhaut offers a large network of marked mountain biking trails along the tracks of the 1997 world championships. You can indulge in white-water sports on the fast-flowing river Saane: canyoning, hydrospeed, canoeing /kayaking and river rafting. One of Switzerland’s most beautiful river rafting routes lies between the wild Vanel and Gérignoz gorges.

Summary: We were 5 male adults beyond 70, but active on race bikes every day Very nice location and an interesting multi-appartement building. Nevertheless we felt like living alone there enjoying also the SPA area to our conveniance. A few things were missing in the kitchen but no problem. The communication with the owner was very friendly and efficient. We would certainly come back again! Thanks! Detlef

Summary: Nice and spacious apartment with breathtaking view. Beautiful surroundings. Nice for hiking and driving around. Bathropes where missing and the administrator of the building was not happy with children in the pool. But overall we where really happy with our stay.

Summary: My whole family were in desperate need of a fun and relaxing family holiday. Had to be right for two grand parents, two energetic kids and two tired parents. La soldanelle and Chateaux d’oex fitted the bill brilliantly. Lots of things to do in the surrounding areas, plenty of space to relax, great swimming pool, friendly people and beautiful mountain scenery. Thanks to Anna for renting the apartment and thanks for Ernest for being so helpful on our arrival Great time had by all

Summary: Perfect 5 weeks vacation in this lovely apartment situated a walking distance to all amenities, shops and restaurant in the village. The apartment is very nice and practical, it offers beautiful views over the mountain. it provides all necessary items and equipment on may need. It was very clean upon arrival. The lay out is very good with a large living room facing south and a terrace for the views. Very quiet for there are no streets around. The building is equally elegant with a great hall and wonderful facilities for all ages in the family. The owner is very nice and has been very helpful. Check in is facilitated by pleasant and reliable manager. All in all a very nice place I warmly recommend.

Summary: Awesome views in such a stylish apartment , modern and luxurious with owners that actually care and great service. We travel around Europe a lot and this is by far the most stylish and luxurious that we have stayed in. Great facilities in the building good size pool, steam room, sauna & jacuzzi. They even have a massage room and a pool table. The kitchen was well equipped plenty of plates, cutlery and cups and cooking pans . Dining table comfortably sits 8 we had 10 round the table one night. A lovely large balcony with panoramic mountain views with additional dining table for 8, didnt get to use it as a bit cold in November. Clean limestone bathrooms. Great signal on the Wi fi and good selection of dvds to watch. I have already booked to go back again , cant wait !

Summary: A group of 8 of us stayed at this apartment in September for family wedding. It has everything you need for a week long stay and more. The apartment block has excellent facilities, gym, swimming pool, saunas, lounges and parking. It has a lift to all floors, and we had an elderly guest with us who had no problems getting around with a walking stick. It is located in Chateau d'Oex which is a small town with lots of character and enough to keep you occupied for a couple of days, with Geneva and Lausanne within striking distance too. The only slight issues we had: No WIFI in the apartment, although you could access the communal wifi if you stood by the apartment front door with the door open. Vast majority of shops close on a Sunday, so arriving on a Sunday meant we had to buy food and travel with it. Could possibly do with more cooking products- pots and pans, we struggled to cater for the 8 of us as we didn't have quite enough. The apartment has a lovely balcony, with hot air balloons going over early in the morning, good size rooms and bathrooms, huge living area with dining table and comfy sofa. Slept 8 comfortably, 2 twin rooms and 2 doubles. Enough storage space for a weeks worth of food. It was very clean on arrival. Highly recommend it, decent value for money for the level of accommodation provided and a good location to go exploring.

Summary: The location was absolutely superb and way beyond our expectations. On this occasion we went with another couple but would not hesitate to return with our family as this property had something for everyone, The property was spacious and exceptionally clean and the maid service highly efficient. The biggest and best surprise of all was the amazing wonderfully and professionally equipped gym which we we all took daily advantage of. We felt that we would find it difficult to find fault with and so accessable to reach and are already planning when we can return with the family as just know our teenagers willl love the proximity to all the assets the resort has to offer with all the sporting facilities. Its not often you can combine luxurious living style with all you need to make the perfect holiday.
