Summary: Very nice lakefront property. The owners Jeff and Elizabeth were very accommodating. Jeff helped us unload our things and even took us on a boat ride to show us around the lake. There was also fresh baked bread waiting for us in the kitchenette. Although the owners are present onsite, there is still sufficient privacy. The beds were comfortable. Although there isn’t a full kitchen we were able to make breakfast with the electric skillet and toaster oven. There were also very nice grills available, although we didn’t use them. We did use the paddle boards, kayaks and pedal boats and had a great time.

Summary: Our stay at Captain Jack's Retreat was very relaxing! The home is beautiful and the apartment was just as described, very clean and organized with plenty of space. The hosts have thought of everything you might need for your stay! The pool was lovely and you can't beat the view! We enjoyed the paddle boards, kayaks and floating in the lake. The lake was much nicer than we expected! The home hosts were very warm, welcoming and very accommodating.Just a note that the owners do live in the house, so you may hear a few footsteps upstairs and on occasional the dogs might bark, but it was not bothersome to us. Overall, our experience was a very pleasant one and we have stayed at many short term rentals and would rate this one near the top! If you are looking to experience Lake Murray, then this is a wonderful place to stay!

Summary: This was the best vacation rental! Everything was top quality and comfortable. The owners were the nicest people and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for a fun stay. We enjoyed use of kayaks, paddle boards, and a canoe. Both the pool and the lake were wonderful. We were sad to leave this paradise by the lake!

Summary: Captain Jack's is the place to go for rest. The comfort of the unit, the beauty of the surroundings, and the relaxation of the water all make for a vacation that is low key and rejuvenating. Summary: From the pool to the lake was the absolute best looking views. The house in general was good. Maybe a bit much furniture in living area to relax and walk around. But the house was great place just a bit noisy from the owners upstairs walking sounded like stomping. But the people where great and their pup was very lovable too. I'd recommend going at least once to check out the lake. Very nice Christian people. ✝️ ;)
