Positive: Wow, what a beautiful and serene break we have just had at the bothy. The location is amazing, so calm and the landscape changes every time you look out of the windows, we will miss that view. The bothy itself was wonderful, luxuriously rustic. So many thoughtful touches from the hot water bottle, robes, slippers, the wee dram to Jane kindly lending me her slow cooker. This break was everything we hoped for and more, the fine weather being the icing on the cake.

Negative: Everything was perfect.

Summary: Simply stunning.

Positive: The cottage couldn't be better situated with the most stunning views. The peace and quiet ensured a private, peaceful and relaxing stay. The kitchen was well equipped. The cottage is fairly dark but as someone who doesn't like bright lighting this suited us perfectly. While we were there we spotted seals, herons, red kites, red throated loons(which I'd never seen before) and of course the really lovely highland coos.

Negative: Nothing.

Summary: The ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle.

Positive: The view out of each Bothy window was beautiful, especially out of the lounge. It was so nice to see and hear the water outside the house with the fire on keeping the Bothy perfectly cosy. The decor of the house was also spot on, such a zen vibe - impossible not to switch off and relax!

Negative: I can’t think of any way to improve this perfect little property.

Positive: This superb little bothy is a Scottish paradise. For those wanting to have taste of off-grid life but just 'not quite' ready to forgo all of life's little luxuries... this is your place! If like us, you have already fallen in love with this place based on the photos on the website, prepare to fall in love all over again with the real thing which was even better than expected. The log burning stove was a bigger one than on the photos (which we were especially thankful for being there the end of March!) and once roaring, the little place was as cosy as toast. The bedroom had an electric heater was was a nice addition to warm the bedroom for a couple of hours before climbing into bed - but we didn't need it on overnight because the bed - oh MY - the bed - was the cosiest, comfiest, warmest we have EVER slept in. Despite outside temperatures of just 4C - we didn't even need the lovely hot water bottles provided. The kitchen was amply filled with equipment of the highest standard and everything foodie chef could wish for. We didn't take the first night meal option but thoroughly recommend the first morning breakfast offer - delicious - and lasted us most of the week! (the bacon - home reared - was another best ever moment). everything about this little placed exuded quality and was carefully thought out. It has been renovated and designed with love to an impeccable standard. We would have happily parked up and never left the immediate surroundings but as this was our first visit to Skye we felt duty bound to explore the whole island. This was a perfect base from which to reach all parts of the island and we were not disappointed. There is an excellent Co-op in the nearest village from where you can get any food supplies you might have forgotten to pack, but apart from that - to be fair - if you forgot to bring it you probably don't need it. :)

Negative: Ok. So just to re-iterate there was NOTHING about this place we didn't like. But this has to be said. The bathroom - whilst beautiful - is pretty cold and you'll want your slippers on for those night time visits. On a plus though, the water is piping hot and plentiful and the shower powerful. In summary, if you are used to sitting about all year round in shorts and T-shirts, in your beautiful modern, centrally heated house then this may not be the place for you. But if like me, you're married to a miserly Yorkshire man who constantly moans about the price of kerosene so you are only too familiar with layering up jumpers & socks throughout the year and you know how to light and stoke-up a log burning stove to survive, then you'll absolutely love it here. But at that moment half way through the week, when you suddenly realise your only 'wish for' is that the bathroom had underfloor heating, then you've probably reached the closest version of 'off-grid' experience with which you're ever likely to cope. So just smile and be grateful.
