Positive: Lower Tweedknowe is a beautifully spacious, warm and comfortable place to stay. Its big windows bathe the kitchen in sunlight (when it is shining!) in the afternoon and the living room in the morning. Clare couldn’t have been more helpful and we loved our short stay in her home.

Positive: Great position (easy 10 minute walk to centre of Melrose), very high standard of decoration and furnnishing, everything you need in fully equipped kitchen and bathrooms. There is also a lovely garden with patio furniture to enjoy the outside if weather permits. The hosts (Clare & Mark) are on site but you never feel overlooked or under scrutiny - but it’s reassuring to know they are there if there is a problem

Negative: I honestly cannot think of anything that is missing or needs to be changed that would have made our stay more comfortable.

Summary: This is an exceptional holiday let and we will definitely use it again if we return to the area

Positive: Very high status accommodation. A bottle of Prosecco and some shortbread to greet us was very welcome. The log burner was appreciated on one of the coldest weekends of the year.

Positive: The host welcomed us when we arrived and was very friendly and helpful. The house was very spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed. It was in a great location and just 5 mins walk from the centre of town.

Negative: Nothing - it was honestly perfect.

Positive: The house is beautiful. The attention to detail shown by the host is outstanding and makes you feel very special. Everything was wonderfully clean and well kept, and they even left us a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge to help us celebrate our honeymoon. There are lots of lighting options around the rooms to help bring that coziness, and a large log burner with logs etc provided to get snug in the evening. A lovely little en suite complimented one of the bedrooms (note this room could do with some more powerful lamps - not a thumbs down but it was difficult to see without the main light on), and the adjoining office acted as a perfect little nursery to house our little one during our stay. All in all a fabulous couple of nights and should we be looking to travel to Melrose in the future we will without doubt return to Lower Tweedknowe!
