This apartment is the lower level of a 1939 Duplex. The Duplex shares an acre of land with a house originally built in 1859, now a tri-plex. We live in the upper unit of the tri-plex. This apartment is set up to look like you've walked into a 1970s early 80s home. Decorating was alot of fun...we are regulars at Goodwill. :)
Have a working atari, super nintendo, vhs player, 8 track tape player - and other older technology. Oh and a kind of hidden clubhouse area with blacklights and blacklight posters. :)
We poured our hearts into this apartment, we love it and have loved sharing it with people since 2018. But, we are very strict about the no party/no outside visitors without prior approval policy. There is a calm and tranquil environment here.
There will always be projects going on in and around the yard, always a bit of controlled chaos. Our yard is all about natural landscaping, pollinator plants and gardening. Elena works from home and Justin’s home is the work! We have 10 very friendly semi-free ranging chickens in the backyard. 2 cats: Zoro, Mr Z Kitty and Sir Oliver Butterscotch, the Belligerent. We also have 2 65 pound dogs; EmmaJane NaughtyPants and Link Underfoot. They are friendly in your face kind of dogs. We do our best to keep them away from guests, but they are around. We hope you come stay with us and don’t forget your slippers!

Summary: Blast from the Past is one of the best finds on VRBO! All of our relatives absolutely LOVED stopping by to visit and looking at the decor. It's conveniently located in town and easy to find. It has plenty of room and comfortable beds. We loved the fish and the reading nook. Justin's care of the property is next level--we loved the wildness feeling of all the plants and flowers and enjoyed coming out to see the morning glories every morning. One thing to note is that if you're sensitive to neighbor noise, there is an upstairs tenant but we felt it just blended into the sounds of life. Thank you so much! We'll definitely be back next time we're in town!

Summary: We have stayed several times in this particular unit and enjoyed their other units as well. Having a full kitchen is fabulous. The owners are very helpful and we love the property - feels like being in the country, yet so convenient to everywhere in Springfield.

Summary: The property was great! The house was clean. It was obvious that the owners put a lot of thought and effort into decorating. It was an incredibly unique duplex. The inside was cheerful, and we had a fun time going around inspecting all of the 70s themed decor and memorabilia. The outside was beautiful as well, with lots of flowers and ponds. It was fun to watch the chickens in their large coop in the back yard. We met Justin a couple of times, he was very friendly and even took us on a tour of a couple of his other properties, which were all equally fantastic. We would stay there again and would recommend it to others.
