Positive: Beautiful location and only a short walk into village. Great walks from the doorstep. Cottage was really homely.
Negative: Nothing of note. Those arriving early in group said it was difficult to locate the actual cottage we had but don’t know if it was us or lack of reading information/signage!
Summary: Comfortable countryside stay, ideal for relaxation.

Positive: •The location and surroundings were perfect for what we like. •The fully enclosed garden was a nice size and ideal to sit in and let the dog run around. •Lovely farmhouse kitchen, very fitting for a countryside cottage. •All rooms were a nice size. •The 3 single mattresses were very comfortable •There is a tiny village close by within walking distance (or a 2 min drive, if walking is a struggle) with a lovely pub with very friendly staff/owners... the food is amazing. •perfect location for walking/hiking with routes close by
Negative: Please note that the following list of dislikes are literally a handful of minor things, that if addressed and/or kept on top of, this property certainly has the potential to be absolutely stunning. •The fitted furniture in the master bedroom was very dated and could do with either a lick of paint and cushions upholstered or taken out and replaced with maybe pine wardrobes.... keep the window seat though. (Perfect for watching the cows after a 6am wakeup call from them) •The dressing table stool had a broken leg. •There were cobwebs all over the property (nothing a quick once over with a duster wouldn't solve) •The bathroom needed a fair bit of work to be honest.. panel not fitted to bath, dirty/mouldy silicone sealant. •Wobbly fixings (not just in the bathroom). •Evidence of a leak somewhere around the bath. •Mouldy patch on living room ceiling (presumably from the bathroom) •Master bedroom mattress very uncomfortable (I ended up on the settee) •Front door lock was temperamental and sometimes wouldn't open (potential risk in the event of a fire etc) •path leading up to property was very slippery when wet
Summary: Very nice, but has the potential to be absolutely stunning

Positive: There are approximately 6 cottages and cabins on site, but it doesn't feel overcrowded. Five of us stayed in the Cheviot Cottage. It's tucked away at the back and set in a beautiful spot, backing on to a pasture so you see the cows in the morning and is next to a path that takes you on a lovely walk. It was quite idyllic. The cottage is well laid out, and good value for money. Don't expect luxury, but do expect comfort and wonderful vibes. It's a perfect relaxing spot to stay with friends for local hikes and trips around Northumberland. We followed a local hiking route that was included in the information book. NB There is no mobile signal at the cottages or in the surrounding area. We didn't have any issues with the wifi as some people did in their reviews. When you visit, make sure you head to The Star Inn in Harbottle. Great meals (gluten free choices avail) and a wonderfully hospitable welcome.
Negative: The kitchen could do with more cutlery to cover guests, but you'll find pretty much everything to use in order to cook, bake etc. There were a number of other minor issues (which have been fedback to the team) which once fixed would mean a 10* stay. Those aside all in all a wonderful stay, and would absolutely return for another stay.
Summary: Comfortable cottage in idyllic setting

Positive: Loved the location of the cottage and the private garden. The cottage had a well equipped kitchen with everything we needed and it was very homely.
Negative: The cottage needs a bit of up dating the bath was a mess and fell apart at the bottom and a bit difficult getting to the shower hose as the glass screen has silicone all around it so it doesn't move and looks a bit of a mess. We had trouble with the front door when we locked it we couldn't un lock it to get out so there must be somthing wrong with the lock. The bed in the main bedroom although comfy was very squeaky.
Summary: Lovely place to stay and plenty of room and the privite garden was great. In a good Location.
