Casa Ispirazione was renovated in the last few years to bring it up to a modern standard.
All rooms have central heating, the open plan living room/kitchen has additionally got a beautiful wood burning stove with a large glass window to bring extra atmosphere and warmth into the heart of the house. Around it is a large L shaped sofa for at least 6 with a bench next to it as well as tables for up to 9 people. The modern kitchen is perfectly equipped.
The upper bedroom1 as well as the just mentioned living room have each large sliding door windows of 2x3m, enabling breathtaking views and easy access to generously proportioned, roofed balconies (10 sqm).
A fantastic, sunny terrace of 10x10m, made with stone paving, with stunning open views and at the same time very private, south east facing (morning sun), gives you a flexible outdoor living-space : 1/3 is under a canopy of leafy vines, there is also a stone bench and stone sofa with a large umbrella for additional shade.
more about the location and shopping : As the google map above indicates, you take the road at Villadossola in the direction of Valle Antrona, to Montescheno, Barboniga until you reach the parking place at Valleggia. The road is sometimes really narrow and goes from 250m in Villadossola up to 850m in Valleggia. It is a beautiful drive through little villages, forests and open with many curves. For the 12km up or down it will take you about 15 minutes by car.
The casa ispirazione is situated on the south eastern fringe of the little village with open views to the south and east.
The terrace which is directly in front of the living room is next to the (somewhat wild) garden. You can walk to Montescheno to the shop (in 20 min down, more like 30 min up), or by car in 5 min, the shop is very well stocked.
In Villadossola or Domodossola, or in any other larger town in the Ossola Valley or by the lakes, you find shops and supermarkets selling practically everything and of course also lovely Italian food.
more about the house itself: To the west of casa ispirazione we have reconstructed another house, which does connect with the first at bedroom 4. Apart from this connection, both houses are totally independent and we sometimes stay in the 2nd house while we let the casa ispirazione.
as bedroom 4 is the only attached room to the new house and its kitchen and terrace,
we want to let it only in certain situations, if we can come to an agreement, to respect each others privacy.

Summary: We have spend two perfect weeks in this lovely house. What an oasis of nature and peace! The house is very complete and has all the comfort you can wish for. The only thing that could be added are relaxing chairs for on the terrace. We have made beautifull walks in the area and also spend days just to enjoy the house and all it has to offer. The fact that there are no cars or any trafic at all is a big plus. We would definitely want to come back!

Summary: We had a great time staying in Montescheno in May of this year. Stunning surroundings and the ultimate place to relax. The apartment was really clean and well equiped (especially the kitchen!) Beautiful views from every window and both balconies on the mountains and forests. We visited the lakes, but merely relaxed on the spacious terrace in front of the apartment. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet place in the middle of nature. Definitely want to return in the future.

Summary: We spent 2 weeks from September 10th to sept at the Casa Ispirazione The house is situated in the hamlet of Vallegia: a hamlet perched high in the valley of Antrona. Upon arrival, the hamlet is not easy to find since there is no indication at Montescheno. Fortunately, with a little help we finally found it. In fact, we just had to continue on the winding road that crosses Montescheno to get there. On the map provided by the owner that was not indicated and Vallegia is not on the Michelin map either. Finally, once there, we found a very quiet and pleasant house with a spectacular view. The house is on three levels, with a large living room, a fully equipped kitchen (except for the absence of a toaster). Information on market days or even good butchers and bakeries nearby would have been quite useful . Of course, we all found whatever we need by ourselves, but a little help is always a good thing to have upon arrival in a new place.. Do not miss the saturday morning market at Domodossola . The house has large windows and balconies on all floors plus a nice patio adjoining the kitchen. We had two bedrooms: the room on the 3nd floor is big and a bathroom with a bath and shower is on the same floor. However, the room on the first floor requires going outside to join the living rooms via an outside staircase. Same thing for the toilet (with a bath&shower) , the occupants of this room must go outside to access the toilet. Not really convenient for those who are afraid to go out at night .... Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay in Vallegia: the place is quiet, nice and clean. We made beautiful hikes: several well-marked trails are near the house. In addition, it is easy to reach many tracks near Antrona. This northern region of Piemonte is to be discovered at all costs. à suivre en FRANCAIS...

Summary: We had a wonderful time staying at your house. The weather was sunny and warm (except the last day) and we alternated staying in (reading, relaxing) and going out. One day we drove up the Antrona valley, walked round the lake, and had an excellent value lunch at Antrona Schieranco. Another day we took the boat to the Isole Borromee from Stresa and then drove north along the lake to Cannobio and back over the mountain via Malesco and Santa Maria Maggiore. And on another day we went to Orta San Giulio and around Lake Orta. I also took a short walk along the footpath to Zonca, which was very nice, being careful not to slip on the acorns on the path in a couple of places! The house itself was perfect, very well equipped, very clean, and generally just right for us. We will definitely recommend it to friends wanting a similar kind of holiday.

Summary: The situation is lovely, hidden in a 10 home ancient village looking across a glorious valley to hills and mountains. Cherry tress and lush vegetation surrounds the house and the village. the accommodation is beautiful. Completely in character with the village but beautifully touched up here and there wiith beechwood, pine. Numerous patios with beautiful views, sun and shade provide for a situation where it is impossible not to relax. Although we are not hikers the area has lots of hiking trails and there are other lovely scenic drives close by. We had a great time and will be sure to return.
