Casa Gecko is a modern, two story contemporary holiday house in the heart of the beautiful village of Raposeira, West Algarve. Situated in the famous Costa Vicentina National Park, Casa Gecko is just a few minutes from several spectacular beaches, local restaurants, cafes and other amenities.
Casa Gecko is a very spacious, fully equipped one bedroom modern two story house which sleeps two people comfortably.Guests staying in Casa Gecko will get a real taste of traditional Algarvean Village life and also enjoy a bit of luxury during their stay.
Guests staying at Casa Gecko wake up and step straight out through patio doors from the upstairs double bedroom onto the beautiful private south facing roof terrace, enjoying wonderful views over the open countryside and village rooftops.
The roof terrace comes complete with a large Weber BBQ and luxury garden furniture which allows guests to relax in real comfort.The open plan modern kitchen and dining area is fully equipped and includes a large fridge freezer, hob/oven, dishwasher, washing machine, pod coffee machine and ample dining space.
The spacious open plan living area features a large LED smart TV connected to the house’s high speed fibre optic broadband enabling guests to access a large number of channels as well as online entertainment services. The house also includes wireless speakers enabling guests to stream music from their smart phones or other devices.
The house is equipped with several eco wall heaters.
The upstairs double bedroom has plenty of storage space including a fitted wardrobe. The double bed features an LED head board and deluxe memory foam mattress.

Due to the traditional layout of the village, guests are advised to park in the main square and make the short walk through the winding streets to the property. It is possible to drive up to the front door of the house in order to drop off luggage, but please be aware that the streets are very narrow. We think that this is a small price to pay for waking up to fresh air and bird song rather than fumes and traffic noise.

Summary: We wanna say thanks for this nice house in Raposeira. We had a great time with wonderful weather, many treamandous moments and impressions (we really enjoyed the roof top with grill and the beaches in the near to the house). At the beginning of the holidays we got a lot of informations about the house and zhe area (restaurants, supermarkets and so on). The furnishing of the house is really great and during our stay, there have been a cleaning team in the house. They made a fantastic job and the communication with the hosts about that was really good. Thanks to the hosts for their kindness and enormously engagement, that allow us having one of our best journeys till today. We will let casa Gecko in our heart and are very thankful. The hosts were reachable at every time you need and so sympathic.

Summary: The property was as described and had all the necessary facilities, including some very sharp knives! We even had our towels changed unnecessarily on the penultimate day of our stay. Raposeira is a pleasant village within a 10 minute drive of Zavial and Ingrina-both with delightful beaches. The only downside was the night time cacophony of dog barking !

Summary: We arrived in the village to be met by Sylvester a great character so very helpful. On entering this wonderful Portuguese cottage that has been renovated to a very high standard, so clean, fresh and homely with a very comfortable bed, thank you. We had an amazing week next time it will have to be two weeks. Thank you for a super holiday

Summary: This was our first experience with HomeAway and with Portugal. We were met by Sylvester who met us in the square where there was a well stocked convenience store and we walked 4 minutes to the house up cobble stoned streets it was very secure and was beautifully led out for open plan living, the kitchen had everything we needed and was very well stocked with kitchen utensils. The living area was very comfortable and we enjoyed the blue tooth sound system and the internet access. There was also a television but the sunsets from the terrace upstairs meant we did not use this facility. If visited in Winter there is an enclosed fire which would be ample for the house.There was also a downstairs toilet. Upstairs there is an ample double bedroom with patio doors to a large terrace and barbecue area with beautiful views over the Algarve countryside. The bed was very comfortable and the blackout curtains gave you the option to sleep as long as you wished. This accommodation is Portuguese village living and was quiet with the sound of birdsong in the morning and the locals going about their business throughout the day. The decor throughout the house was immaculate and tiled flooring beautiful and everything was exceptionally clean. At every socket was a UK plug adapter and we did not find anything lacking to detract from our stay. Casa Gecko is an exceptional property with an authentic rural Portuguese character. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it certainly exceeded our expectations. Thank you Callum and Zoé for letting us HomeAway here.

Summary: We were the first visitors in this nice appartment. And the stay was great. So many beaches nearby. The appartment has everything you need to feel comfortable. It can become quite windy on the terrasse and you need a car to get around. The car can be parked in the village center.
