Positive: This was my favorite accommodation during my trip to Egypt! The room exceeded my expectations, with thoughtful decor details that made it feel cozy. It was brighter and much cleaner than the photos on the booking website, with no mosquitoes or flies at all. The bed was super comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep—I didn’t want to leave and wished I could have stayed longer. The location is perfect, right next to Shali Old Town, making it very convenient to explore. The host was incredibly hospitable, and all the recommended tours were fantastic and reasonably priced. The one-day tour of the Old Town and Salt Lakes, as well as the desert safari, were amazing experiences. Plus, there’s an adorable cat named Lotus, who is friendly and talkative, adding even more joy to the trip. If I ever visit Siwa again, I would definitely stay at Lotus again!

Positive: The Lotus House is a lovingly rebuilt house in traditional style directly below the Shali Fortress. Each room is beautifully decorated with simple furnishings and has its own toilet and bathroom. The rooms and the rest of the house are very clean and when I arrived there were brand new woollen blankets for the beds. Also a young and very loving and playful cat named Lotus lives in the house. The owner Ahmed Maradona is such a kind and caring host. Whatever you want or if you have problems, he solves them immediately and is always ready to help. I stayed in his house for 9 nights and it was my best time in Egypt. I can only recommend anyone travelling to Siwa to stay with him.

Negative: Towels would bring the full comfort.

Positive: Our stay at the newly renovated old Shali house turned into homestay was a wonderful experience, made very special due to our host Ahmed Maradona. He is very knowledgeable about Siwa, took us on great trips to a private salt lake and around the oasis. Rooms are spacious and decorated with great care for local traditions, each has its own bathroom and common area is very cozy to relax. If you need anything, Maradona will get it to you in a second. Free and working WiFi in all areas is a big plus. The place is very peaceful, but just a short walk takes you to the center of the lively town. You can climb to Shali fortress from just behind the house and we had a view to its top from our bathroom.

Negative: Everything was great, as it can be expected with a newly renovated place, some little things were missing, but any issue was promptly resolved by the host.

Summary: Excellent stay in the historic house to feel old Siwa.

Positive: Traveling a month from Cario to Aswan, along the Nile river back to Cairo, decided to visit the Siwa Oasis, we met the spiritual, gentle host from Lotus House. It located in the heart of Siwa, just below Shali Fortress, we could clearly spot it at the top of the fortress. Eco friendly handcrafted house with calm vibes, we would recommend to anyone who is a natural lover. Host Maradona helped us to arranged 1 day tuktuk city tour + salt lake and 1 day safari tour at Sahara Desert, and hot springs surrounding in oasis with camp fires, we had the most amazing experience at Siwa. I would rated a 10 stars review if I could! Highly recommended
