Positive: This fantastic hotel is set in the middle of nature. If you like seeing and hearing birds, then this place is great, with over 25 species in 1 night stay. The room was large, the linens were high quality, and it was all very clean. We had a kettle for making coffee, good AC, and fan. We had a room with a great view over the garden towards the lake. The owner, Chandana, was very friendly and spoke good English. The hotel is very well decorated and comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting to watch the wildlife at sunset on the bench provided. The garden is also a haven for wildlife and has a lot of interesting trees. He provided us with the best Sri Lankan breakfast we have had in a month. It was outstanding, with some of it made by his wife. Him and his staff member were very kind to help us change the wheel on our tuktuk, too. A wonderful place to stay. We stayed for a halfway point between Kandy and Negombo

Negative: There is nothing to dislike. Fabulous hotel at all unbelievable price.

Positive: The hotel is a great place to stay if you are visiting the area and looking for quiet great value for money accommodation. The hotel is in a lovely location away from busy roads but easy to get to down a short unsurfaced road. The hotel is surrounded by a lovely big carp pond and an array of trees and vegetation adding to the relaxing feel of the place. We took two rooms and both were simply furnished, with lovely quiet a/c and had clean attached bathrooms and TV's (not that I turned it on). The beds were comfortable and the bedding and towels were soft and clean. We were able to check in from 12:30 which was wonderful as we could drop our bags and then head to the event we were attending. We came back to the hotel very late so did not have any food that evening, so I am not sure what would be available as the facilities looked quite limited. We brought our own snacks back with us and they were happy to provide tea or coffee and cutlery etc for us which was really kind. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious traditional Sri Lankan food with egg and string hoppers, curry, pancakes, rolls, eggs, samboll, traditional green juice, and plenty of orange juice, tea or coffee if you wanted it. The owner and staff were really friendly and attentive and made sure we had everything we wanted. I even came away with jasmine cuttings for my garden 😍 They also have Kayaks on the lake a 10 minute drive away which sadly I didn't get to use, but would be a great additional adventure to add to your stay.

Negative: Nothing really - I thought that for the price we paid, we got more than enough in the way of facilities and hospitality.

Summary: Hidden gem with bonus lake adventure. Comfortable accommodation, and great staff, value ++

Positive: Dinner was amazing! Staff weee friendly and helpful. Beds were huge and very comfortable.

Positive: The location is off the main road along a lake, so it’s very quiet. The garden is beautiful. My room had a huge picture window overlooking the countryside. The pillows were soft and fluffy. It was a big room and bathroom. We went kayaking on the very beautiful lake and they were very fun people.
