Summary: This was a great home base for skiing in ski cooper and Breckenridge. Leadville is a darling town, fun shopping and food. The house has many amenities, heated garage, hot tub, home theater to watch basketball games. The kitchen is great and king size beds in all of the rooms.

Summary: My husband and our adult children and their spouses spent Christmas at Lostberry Ranch. The home was comfortable and roomy for all of us. We cooked every meal in the well-appointed kitchen. The hot tub was perfect for after dinner soaking in a snowy backdrop and starry sky. Check-in was easy and the hosts were communicative and had everything explained and laid out for us. Very happy with our stay!

Summary: We had a truly wonderful time staying at The Lostberry Ranch in September! During our stay, we enjoyed most the view from the balcony on the main porch, observing the stars while grilling out in the crisp night air, and enjoying ‘movie night’ in the decked out home theater on a regular basis! Thoughtful décor was put in place throughout to align with different room themes, and the sculptures outside only added to the ambiance of our location. It is worth noting, as they are mentioned in other reviews, that while yes, the rules can seem extensive, they are put in place to maintain a pristine property and are simple to observe for mature houseguests. For example, we had no need to modify any electronic settings, found the theater easy to use and entertaining without connecting any personal devices, and the kitchen was clearly labeled to make cleanup a breeze. With this five star review, I would suggest that this is a getaway for grown ups. It is a big and beautiful home with unobtrusive rules worthy of being respected that would be challenged by the presence of children. Just our opinion. While in town, we enjoyed local activities such as a train ride, a three-hour UTV tour (the views make the drive up to the elevation of more than 13,000 feet worth it!), and fly fishing with a dedicated expert/guide. Due to its location, cities like Vail, Aspen, and Breckenridge were not far away. An overnight trip to Telluride is also highly recommended, with opportunities to see gangs of elk and flocks of bighorn during the day and evening. Additionally, the extra touches, such as the chocolates, snack basket, and note cards, were truly welcoming. We are looking forward to returning when we are in the Leadville area again in the future! Our hosts were available, but not pushy. Responsive but not bothersome. I do believe they were on site in their camper for some of our stay, but I felt no discomfort from that presence. I recommend this property, and will likely return ourselves to enjoy the area... But next time in winter 😊.
