Positive: Starling wifi excellent. Fridge in room a bonus. Bungalows spacious located in beautiful grounds. Owner kindly let us visit monkey enclosures. Very near ArcheologArcheological site and route to waterfalls.

Negative: Silicon drain plugs in shower would have been useful at nights

Positive: The owner is passionate about animal rescue and rehabilitation. Her English is very good so she's able to explain in detail about her monkey rehab facility. You're able to view (not touch!) the monkeys, and they're all there temporarily with the aim to release them back into the wild. She also has a bunch of dogs and cats that are the type that might struggle to find a home due to disability and such. It's really lovely to see. The room was simple and comfortable. Two double beds per room and a bathroom and AC.

Negative: This isn't strictly something I didn't like, but it's good to be aware that getting to the property from the main road takes longer than it looks like it would on the map, since the entire length of the road you turn onto from the main road is single-lane and unpaved. The road gets traffic due to several hospitality establishments, so you have to pull over to allow passing traffic and such. If you're looking for the place to stay to facilitate getting the Palenque archaeological site right for 8am opening, this location won't speed you up.

Negative: Bugs everywhere, but also that is just me. Palenque is in the jungle, so there will be bugs everywhere. I am just too needy

Positive: We felt at home right away! The lady is helpful and welcoming and the property is just beautiful. There are many lovely animals, lots of cute dogs and cats you can befriend! You can also see animals that the lady has rescued and is looking after before releasing them back into the wild! The room was spacious, cosy and very clean. We had our breakfasts there too and they were delicious!

Positive: We had a comfortable stay for 2 nights. We liked the location with easy access to Palenque ruins. There were also a couple of restaurants nearby. We had dinner two nights in a row at Paraiso and it was quite good - excellent pizza! Adriana made fresh and hearty breakfasts for us each morning and it was fun chatting with her about her work rescuing the monkeys. We enjoyed all the dogs and cats too.

Negative: One night there was loud music playing at one of the neighboring properties for a while. We were worried it was going to go on late into the night. Fortunately it finished up around 9:30PM.

Summary: A comfortable and unique place to spend a couple of days. We enjoyed it!

Positive: This is an unusual hotel, as it is literally located in the jungle (it would not be easy to find it, if it were not for the kind and detailed instructions of the lady who runs it, who has been in touch with us from the start), because it is a place where they rescue monkeys to release them back into the wild. When I booked, I thought it would be a great experience for my kids and so it was. We had a tour of the rescue centre and could see monkeys both in cages and running free around us. Our bungalow room was clean and good size, even though it had quite a rustic look (in line with the image of the place). Breakfast was plentiful and with sufficient choice, considering it is a small hotel with only a handful of rooms. We felt personalized attention from beginning to end.

Negative: The last 500 meters to get to the hotel are a bit rough for driving and there is very little choice of restaurants within a walking distance, so we had to make do with whatever was available. The mattresses were a bit too soft for us, as my partner is quite heavy. The kids were a bit upset by the absence of the TV, but the Wi-Fi signal was good enough for us to show them some cartoons on the laptop.
