Positive: Had a wonderful stay at Loa’s Nest. The room was spacious and very comfortable, making it a perfect place to relax. The large common area was a lovely bonus, with board games and magazines/books available to enjoy. Even though breakfast was not officially available, the lovely family made sure no one left the house without enjoying their special homemade waffles, which was such a warm and memorable touch. Highly recommended!

Positive: It’s a hidden gem, the room was big and very clean. Waffles with home made rhubarb jam, of course, do their magic too.

Negative: There was not enough hot water on two nights. Also, there was a large group staying with their own cook and it was very difficult to use the kitchen. If you arrive after the group, there will be no hot water.

Positive: Family guesthouse with separate rooms with private bathroom. The rooms are clean. You can use the shared kitchen and dining room. The apartment is in the south-west of Iceland and there are many possibilities to travel from there. (Geysir, Vestmannaeyjar Island, Kerid crater, etc). It is definitely important to emphasize the atmosphere, the owners are very friendly and communicative, and also the concept, where everyone meets for breakfast at a round table in the morning (waffles are served from 8 o'clock) and together they talk about where they are from and what they have planned. The owner adds a lot of interesting information about Iceland and local culture, so you can find out what it's like to grow bananas in Iceland, details, how Icelandic surnames are formed and much more. This certainly distinguishes the accommodation from the others.
