Positive: The flat is really cosy and pretty and you feel comfortable in it. It is located in the city centre. Giorgio, the owner, is really nice and provides you with all the information and tips you need to have a great experience in Melfi. He came to collect me at the train station and explained clearly all the flat features. I would highly recommend this place.

Positive: Melfi was not on our initial itinerary in Basilicata. However, two factors made our visit an unforgettable one: the first was the rock church of St. Margherita and the second, our stay at the Lo Stemma guest house. George Umbrino was the most responsive, accommodating and caring host we interacted with in the region. The apartment is in a nicely renovated 16th century house in the old town, a few steps from the cathedral and the bishop's palace. George met us in person, helped us to settle, recommended places to have dinner, and helped us to arrange the visit to the rock church. Strongly recommend him and his place to everybody who is interested in visiting Melfi.

Negative: I cannot think of anything to complain about. Even the weather was nice and cooperating in the second half of November.

Summary: Although less known and not much advertised, Melfi is an attractive and worth of visiting place.

Positive: Lo Stemma is a large, very high quality apartment, fitted to a new, modern standard but part of a 200 year old property with tonnes of character and historic features. Giorgio is the perfect host, he contacted us a couple of days earlier, met us on arrival and explained the apartment and location in detail. We were provided with drinks in the fridge, ingredients to cook and snacks - all unexpected but very appreciated. Thank you for a fantastic stay - we'd thoroughly recommend the accommodation and location.
