Negative: A bit further out than I expected, but should have done my research a bit more. Smelt a bit damp until we figured out the heating system then it heated up quickly

Negative: The lack of disclosure altogether that the tank water which was the source of the water from all of the taps, was undrinkable. There was a very small sign with very small red writing on the window ledge which we did not immediately notice. This is also a problem because you cant cook in the water unless you boil it first, you shower in it, have to clean your teeth with bottled or boiled water. there should have been prior disclosure AND a large black sign posted on the front door and on the bench immediately inside the front door next to which the 4 bottles of water should have been located. Not good at all.

Positive: The location was pretty in autumn and close to Denarque Estate for a wedding I was attending. The bed was comfortable. The bed linen was lovely. The airconditioning worked well and was warm.

Negative: Communication from the letting agent leading up to the stay was hopeless. I had to phone them late in the afternoon before the stay as I had no information of how to get into the property. They were not replying to emails. They messaged me the day after my checkout with instructions for leaving the property. On arrival there was no water on. With limited phone reception at the property this was difficult to resolve and we ended up climbing into an over grown garden outside and resetting the pump ourselves. Feeling very tired after a long drive this was not ideal. The house is dark unlike the photos and has a damp musty smell. We had to put lights on during the day. When a photo frame fell off the wall late one night we saw that the back of it was covered in mould. The bathroom is basic at best, definitely not luxurious. The furnishings are dated and not comfortable. There is no full length mirror anywhere in the house which is not great when dressing to attend a wedding. There was no coffee machine. Even a cheap aldi pod machine would have been better than nothing as there is no local cafe either. There is no free to air tv and the internet is so patchy it was impossible to watch anything even on our own streaming services. The outside surrounds of the house are not maintained well and it is quite unattractive compared to neighbouring gardens. Internal cupboards and doors with padlocks on them do not make guests feel welcome. This house does not meet the expectations of the luxury price I paid for two nights accommodation. I would encourage the owners to visit the accommodation at Denarque Estate and take some advice on how to present a heritage home in this price range to make guests feel welcome, or to price their home accordingly.
