Positive: I stayed for 3 nights at Les Ecrins in August with my wife and 2 grown-up kids and the experience was fantastic. We took our time over breakfast each day to savour the delicious local products beautifully presented by Patrick. We felt very well looked after, as if we had a private butler! Everything was spotlessly clean with great attention to detail, and the jacuzzi was great to come back to after a long day hiking.

Summary: Highly recommended.

Positive: We were made very welcome by, Patrick and Sebastien, into their beautiful home. All rooms were welcoming, bright and furnished beautifully as was our bedroom. The bed was incredibly comfy with quality bedlinen and the shower was superb. Everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very nicely presented with good quality, local produce and Patrick presented a newly baked speciality each morning together with his home -made preserves and local honey.

Positive: Les Ecrins is absolutely worth a recommendation. The house itself is a beautifully restored villa from 1900. The interior decoration is beautifully done and very tasteful. Our room was spacious and although it was at the front of the building, traffic noise was hardly noticable. If you're an extremely light sleeper, you might want to ask for a room that's not at the front. Breakfast is served in one of the rooms at ground floor, where a woodfire is burning in the morning. Breakfast itself is more than plentyful and consists of croissants, bread and cake with an assortment of self-make jams and honey, cheeses, ham, yoghurt, apple juise and coffee. It's really more than enough to start your day in the best possible way. Both hosts are extremely friendly and helpful; they make staying at Les Ecris very enjoyable.

Negative: Nothing, really. It's all positive!

Summary: Staying in Les Ecrins is the perfect base to enjoy the beauty that the Alsace has to offer.
