Positive: The kitchen was better equipped than any other vacation rental where I have stayed. The refrigerator is American-size (i.e., huge) and there are ample utensils, glassware, dishware, etc for more guests than the apartment could handle. There are even two corkscrews, and two coffee makers, one of which is the more traditional drip kind, which is our strong preference. The washing machine is capable of drying clothes too, which is more convenient than having to use the drying rack, which is provided as well. The location is quiet, with assigned parking inside the courtyard of a former convent, and very convenient to the Diderot Museum. The landlady arranges to meet the guest in person to hand over the keys and show guests how to get into the building, where to find everything in the apartment, how things work, etc, so synchronizing the arrival time with her is important. Guests with heavy baggage will appreciate the modern elevator, retrofitted to the old building. We wish there were more of those.

Positive: Nice apartment in the very scenic oldtown of Langres. The host was very helpful and recommend a walk on the city walls, which was very pleasent.

Positive: Lovely location adjacent to the ramparts, with plenty of space and private parking within the city walls, via a marvellous approach through the Hotel de Ville gate past the beautiful GalloRoman triumphal arch.

Negative: Guests should take care to enquire about pets kept in the apartment in the past if they have any allergies. Ask about fans if visiting in summer.

Summary: Even in very hot weather, this made for a restful 2-night stopover with a very helpful host.
