Summary: Our stay was extremely disappointing and far below the standard we expect from Marriott. I feel compelled to warn others, especially if you're expecting a comfortable night's sleep. Our visit coincided with a town parade, making access difficult due to multiple road closures. While this wasn't the hotel's fault, they did well by sending an email ahead to suggest where to park. Check-in was smooth, and the reception staff were polite and helpful, but we were surprised by a £50 deposit that wasn't clearly highlighted during booking. The problems continued in our room. The TV didn't work, and there wasn't even a remote control. We had to contact reception twice before it was resolved. Although the staff responded promptly, these basic checks should have been completed before our arrival. The biggest issue was the air conditioning, which simply didn't work. Despite setting it to 18°C, the room remained unbearably hot. Opening the window wasn't an option because of loud music outside the hotel that continued late into the night. None of us slept properly. My son spent the night tossing and turning, and we all woke up exhausted. A hotel's most basic responsibility is to provide a comfortable place to sleep, and this hotel failed completely. Breakfast was average, with nothing that made up for the terrible night we'd had. If you're staying here during warm weather or busy town events, think twice, you could end up paying for a sleepless, uncomfortable night.

Summary: Pros:- early check in, late check out appreciated. Looked after case next day. Breakfast excellent. Room clean. Cons:- offered late check out, but hadn't been booked on system. Asked for bed sheet as warm weather. Had to ask 3 times until we got one. Bed too firm. Air conditioning poor, set to 18 degrees but got nowhere near 18 degrees, it was also very noisy.
