Le Pommier at Can Llouquette is a recently renovated holiday apartment, ideally suited for up to two adults, though one child can also be accommodated. It is private, has it’s own entrance, a well-equipped kitchen, living room, double bedroom, toilet and shower and it’s own terrace with BBQ and garden furniture.
Can Llouquette itself is an old apple farmstead with several buildings set in 20 acres. It has a large child-friendly pool set in a mature garden with lawn surrounded by forest and hills. We have a vegetable garden, meadows and about 1km of stream which has a plunge pool, picnic tables, BBQ, swings (and in high summer hammocks).
What makes Can Llouquette extra special is that it is set in its very own little valley. It is extremely private with no neighbours. We are surrounded by nature and there is no light pollution so the night sky is a delight. At night all you are likely to hear is the stream, the fountain, owls, boar and the occasional bark of roe deer. We have our own animals including chickens. Gorgeous mountain walks are possible from the house and within a short driving distance.
This is real unadulterated nature. It is stunningly beautiful and peaceful and at times capricious and unpredictable it is nature as few city people encounter in modern life. For us it is intoxicating. We have had to learn to become totally self-reliant. If you are the kind of person that thrives on busy towns and constant connectivity it is most likely not for you: we have no TVs, mobile reception is poor in the mountains, we do have Wifi (but we cannot always guarantee that because of storms). But instead of this you get the sound of the river, glorious sunshine, occasional wild summer storms, balmy evenings and lots and lots of peace.
It is this that makes it the perfect peaceful rural location to escape modern life, because you are truly enveloped in nature. The perfect place to detox and completely disengage from the pressures of the daily grind.
And yet, amidst all of this peace, our small village with bakery, cafe and restaurant is only 5 minutes away. And the sleepy medieval villages and market towns of Serralongue, Prats-de-Mollo and Amélie-les-Bains as well as Céret (and Camprodon in Spain) are all within easy driving distance. Wonderful seaside towns like Collioure on the Mediterranean and the beaches and bays of the Côte Vermeille are only an hour away.
This is the Eastern Pyrenees, the most southerly valley in France. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty only thirty miles from the Mediterranean at the start of the Pyrenean mountain range. We are only 25 minutes from Spain and can be reached from Girona or Barcelona, as well as Perpignan airports. In fact there are six airports that service this area. We are happy to give advice on travel.
We have four restored private and secluded holiday cottages for rental:
- Le Pommier (for two people)
- La Bergerie (for four people)
- El Casot (for two people) and
- L'Atelier (for four to six people)
Each accommodation is secluded and private so you can choose how much or how little you wish to interact with ourselves and the other guests.
We have restored the property and land over the 15 years we have lived here. We love all the area has to offer and can give plenty of advice to help you get the best out of your holiday: be that markets, things to do with children, walks, the best restaurants etc.
We speak English, French, German and Spanish and are happy to help in anyway we can.

Summary: A beautiful place to stay with stunning views, lots of woods, wildlife and local walks. Swimming in the pool is great as the scenery is lovey. The owners are very welcoming and hospitable nothing is too much trouble. We stayed in Le Pommier which is small but cosy and has everything you need. Would highly recommend staying here, this is our second visit and we will come back hopefully next year.

Summary: We found Can Lloquette to be a haven in France. Couldn’t say enough about our hosts, Simon and Ashley. The peace and relaxation we felt was restorative to say the least. The casual interactions with the other guests was also an informal but fun surprise for us. We loved meeting with guests from all around the world. Blue, the resident dog, is an exceptional piece de resistance to an authentic experience in the Pyrenees mountains of France. Visit this Mas at your peril, you won’t want to leave. Convenient to the Med and many other places. This is the real France!

Summary: From the moment you drive into Can Llouquette, you know you're in for something pretty special. We arrived to a warm welcome and were quickly settled into Le Pommier, an apartment that opens out on to a lovely open view. A beautiful setting; a very high standard of accomomdation; friendly, knowledgeable and discreet hosts ... it's a lovely place to switch off and just be or as a base to explore the towns in the local area. A week just wasn't quite long enough.

Summary: We could not have had a more splendid vacation. Can Llouquette is exactly what we needed. The property's gorgeous surroundings are something out of a postcard. We were finally able to relax and enjoy some tranquility. Simon and his family have really created a special place in this valley. Summary: We flew into Bezier and drove up. . The rural roads are windy but very easy and almost traffic free, and the views are spectacular. And when you arrive Can Llouquette is just lovely, a real find. Meticulously cared for, pool, garden, fields, river and the holiday cottages. Ours was an old apple store and beautifully refreshing on hot, hot days. It has a lovely terrace with BBQ and it was such a pleasure eating here listing to the birds and the stream. We really enjoyed the picnic tables at the river too. The area is breathtaking ... and there is so much within a short distance. If you are looking for a bucolic break, away from the crowds but with plenty to do for kids and adults in the vicinity, you'll do hard to find better.

Summary: Simon and Ashley were the perfect hosts during our wonderful stay at Can-LLouquette. If you are after an über relaxing break in a beautiful corner of France with exceptionally knowledgable and hospitable hosts, then you would do well to find anywhere more suitable than here. The setting is stunning, and both the property and the expansive grounds are extremely well maintained making it very hard to leave the place everyday. However, on the days you do want to explore, the location is ideal for accessing the mountains, the coast, and everywhere in between. There is no shortage of interesting towns and villages to explore locally with lively markets etc. on both sides of the French / Spanish border. In short, highly recommended.

Summary: Thank you so much for a lovely time - we enjoyed every minute of our stay. We were in the Apartment, and it was beautifully kept up inside and the grounds were so much fun to explore.
