Le Moulin sur la Seine is a beautifully converted watermill of 230 square meters, set
in a peaceful village in Côte d’Or, Burgundy. It sits at the end of a quiet lane on the banks of the River Seine. You can park your car safely off the road, lock the gates behind you and let the children (and dogs) roam freely! The peaceful gardens sit alongside the river and access to these is through a gate, so there’s no need to worry about small children playing too close to the river. There is plenty of space for you to eat outside on the terrace, barbecue or play games. Moving inside there is a large well-equipped kitchen with all the mod cons (dishwasher, microwave etc) and a large dining table big enough for you to enjoy your meals in the rustic setting. The comfortable sitting room has plenty of sofas, an open fire and TV, and there is a more formal dining area, so you really can make the most of all the space and relax. The gorgeous oak staircase leads upstairs to the landing and 4 bedrooms, one of which is ensuite. Three of the bedrooms enjoy views over the front of the house, courtyard and river. This is a perfect base from which to explore Burgundy or other nearby areas as transport links are so good. In addition, free WiFi internet and excellent mobile phone reception enable you to stay in touch with the outside world. Within an easy hour's drive of Etrochey are Dijon, the vibrant and beautiful capital city of Burgundy; the medieval town of Troyes with its half-timbered houses, street-side cafes, and excellent shopping; Flavigny-sur-Ozerain where the film ‘Chocolat’ was filmed and Semur-en-Auxois, a walled town with enchanting cobbled streets & excellent restaurants - a hit with children and adults alike. Other attractions include the Chatillon museum with its famous bronze ‘vase de Vix’ which was found nearby and is around 2,500 years old; Chateauneuf-en-Auxois, a lovely flower-decked town with an impressive, mediaeval castle which just has to be visited; the Abbey de Fontenay, a superb Cistercian abbey & UNESCO World Heritage Site; and the museum and park of Alésia where you can travel back in time to see history as it happens! Summary: We enjoyed a relaxing week here, the property is well equipped both in the kitchen and the rest of the house. The location is rural yet only 1.5hrs from Dijon and the Burgundy wine region is on the doorstep. The hot tub and sauna are a wonderful way to relax overlooking the river. The host was helpful.

Summary: we were a group of 5 adults with a dog. we spent a total of 12 days in this beautiful old house. Our arrival was easy and also welcoming. Because the gate to the property was already open, the front door was not locked and we were able to take our first tour without rushing. We felt this was a very generous gesture from our landlord Michel and his charming wife. The property has been lovingly renovated and offers all the amenities to spend a nice, peaceful holiday. The overall impression in real is as in the pictures posted on different platforms. The house and kitchen is practical and equipped with everything you need and much more. All bedrooms and bathrooms are almost perfect....we slept like in heaven. The house was also very clean and welcoming with a surprise in fridge - bottle of Cremant and milk products from Michel's Farm. The very large and varied garden is simply stunning. With romantic, shady corners to relax and literally let your soul dangle. And the whole ambience is topped by the Seine directly behind the house. Your might have noticed - our group loved it. A big compliment to the entire Payot family in particular to Michel as the host. Our group wishes you Michel a happy and prosperous 2022 Gabriele (in the name of the entire group)

Summary: Fantastic property, couldn’t want for more. After having to cancel twice because of Covid, this break was long overdue. The weather was fab, the house, gardens, river and spa amazing and Michel very hospitable. This is a new area to us and we will definitely be returning.

Summary: We spent a few pleasant days at the Mill, enjoying this comfortable, clean and well appointed house. There is a wonderful salon with a fireplace and comfortable couches, perfect for reading, watching movies or napping and just enjoying down time. The owner is helpful and gracious. We'll look forward to staying again next we need a break.

Summary: Together with a group of friends we spent a week (30.12.18 - 06.01.19) in this very lovely house and had a great time! The landlord was very friendly and uncomplicated. In this house you will find everything you need to enjoy yourself: the kitchen was well equipped, the living room was very comfortable with a working fireplace and TV and the bedrooms were also very comfy and with a lot of beautiful decorative details. The garden was also very nice. Merci beaucoup, Michel!

Summary: Just got back from our stay at Le Moulin, and already trying to come up with a good excuse to go back. A truly perfect house with incredible hosts, who met us there upon check in to show us around and answer any questions we had. They were also great about answering questions both leading up to and during our stay. Four adults and one toddler had plenty of space to spread out - an entire bedroom basically went unused. The property is so quiet and peaceful. Our little guy loved exploring the garden area and quickly made friends with the pony who lives across the river. The village is charming - there's a playground just up the road. About five minutes away is another village with a great restaurant we dined at a couple of nights. Just beyond that is a grocery store (and a McDonald's, which we resorted to on Monday night after realizing everything else was closed - but hey, they serve beer!). Chatillon Sur Seine is a ten minute drive, and just about anything you can imagine is available there. Couldn't recommend a place to stay more highly!

Summary: Spectacular restored home with all comforts for a large group of friends or family. Beautiful, large garden on the Seine. Very quiet, peaceful location with close access to many beautiful attractions. Michel and Nathalie are lovely people!! Very highly recommended!!

Summary: The property is delightful, the facilities are up-to-date and easily accommodated all of us. The furniture is very comfortable and the kitchen is large and well appointed. There are multiple bathrooms. Two of them are very large. The bedrooms are roomy and extremely quiet thanks to very tight shutters. The garden is beautiful and offers multiple places to sit, in the shade or in the sun. We had a two-year old with us. The perimeter of the garden was secure and we felt that she could safely run around. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We recommend this property with enthusiasm. William
