Total tranquility, nestled on the confines of the famous two-thousand-year-old city of Autun, in the heart of a charming little residential "village", literally "corner of the countryside in the city", nestled in the hollow of a soothing hilly & preserved setting, in edge of bocage meadows, a stone's throw from a large wood, as well as the city center and all its amenities. Backed by the vast wild forest of Planoise (a true "green lung" of the southern foothills of the Morvan massif, to be explored on foot or by mountain bike) within a bucolic preserved setting of gentle countryside, labeled "City of Art & History", Autun has an absolutely unique heritage: exceptional Gallo-Roman remains (Temple, doors, theater, Pyramid of Couhard, etc.), medieval (12th century St-Lazare cathedral, ancient ramparts, Ursulines tower, chapel Romanesque from the 11th century, high neighborhoods with half-timbered houses...) & classics (covered halls from the 19th century, Italian theater from 1884, military high school from the 17th century...).
