Positive: So, first to answer Booking's questions: 1) Breakfast is as good as one can make it. The location offers every tool one might need to get busy preparing delicious meals with localy sourced ingredients. As for the location, I'd give it an 11 out of 10, for everything, how cozy it feels, the views, the distance to everything inside Beynac. For our entire stay there, the host was busy offering valuable advices, for places to see, restaurants to try out and so on. It was incredible! The location is clean, it fits in the fairy tale of Beynac perfectly, helping in setting the stage for the sejour. It's cozy (did say that already, but it doesn't hurt repeating it) and the description is on point, as it blends confort and modern devices seamless with the medieval flair of the place (and of the village as a whole).

Negative: One needs to try really hard to find something unpleasant while visiting Le Jacquou. Like, really really hard. And I, for one, am too happy with how my experience was there to put in such effort.

Summary: If one's attracted to what Beynac has to offer, Le Jacquou will easily be the "home away from home"

Positive: The location just could not be better in the middle of the village which is on the prettiest villages of France list. Baker close by and several very good restaurants.

Negative: Sadly there is not anywhere to sit outside in the evenings. Also one should be aware there is another Gite on the second floor of the property, and the sound proofing is very poor. Sadly we hade very noisy neighbours who woke us up at 4am. We informed the owner about this who took it very seriously and was very apologetic.

Positive: Wonderfully authentic apartment in an old house in the narrow streets of Beynac below the chateau. Beautifully clean and we had the perfect welcome from the wonderful Martine who looked after us brilliantly. The gite is a perfect place to stay as a base to tour the area. Close to nice restaurants, nestled into the cliffs, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
