Positive: This property is an old vineyard with stunning bedrooms built into the hillside. Very unique and different. But it is run by an generous and welcoming couple who support your visit and give proper hospitality. The standard of facilities, comforts and extras are perfect. The gardens and patios are spectacular and are there for you use as a guest. You are made feel very much at home by Mattieu and Elisa. I strongly recommend this property

Positive: Stunning property, friendly hosts, delicious breakfast and gorgeous family dog. Great location for wider Loire and Tours but convenient village shops and restaurant on the doorstep too. Loved lounging by the pool.

Negative: No air con. Room remained totally cool and comfortable but was on the listing.

Positive: The chateau was charming and authentic. The pool was divine, we were swimming at 10pm due to a heat wave. Elisa and Elizabetha were very lovely and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, best croissants ever!

Negative: No complaints at all. You will need a car here though!

Positive: This Maison is rustic and beautiful. It is old and authentic, but the spaces you use are gorgeous! We stayed in the Troglodyte room, in the rock face. It was well appointed, cool and very comfortable. We did not need air-conditioning despite the 30+ temperature as it is essentially a cave and beautifully insulated. The pool was great, the breakfast room and gardens are lovely settings. On top of this is the host, Elisa, who is perfectly charming and thoughtful. There is a lovely cocker spaniel, Vito. If you love dogs, you will love Vito. If you are not a dog person, he is placid and will not bother you. I cannot rate this property any better, just a delightful French experience.

Positive: Beautiful, old property with lovely gardens and pool in the captivating old town of Vouvray. Hosts were both as friendly, engaging and helpful as we could ask for. Would return to this place without hesitation. Breakfasts were superb with local pastries, cheese, perfectly cooked eggs and decent coffee. We even loved their playful young dog.

Negative: awkward shower in our room, but only because my son and I are very tall.

Summary: I can’t wait to return with my wife. Amazing what an impact a fine host has on your experience
