Positive: Lava Homes is a beautiful place to stay with thoughtfully designed houses and stylish decor, but the real standout is the incredible view. I could have spent the whole day just staring at it and there’s nothing like waking up to that scenery in the morning. The Magma restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and dinner so be sure to make reservations in advance. We also walked down the steep hill to Cabana Bar a couple of evenings which was a fun change of pace. I would definitely stay here again.

Negative: There’s very little to fault with Lava Homes, but a couple of things are worth noting. There’s no AC, and during a particularly hot stretch, it got a bit warm indoors. Also, due to the island’s layout and road system, most places of interest are a 30 to 40 minute drive away, so it’s not especially close to anything. Neither of these would stop me from staying here again, but they’re good to be aware of when planning your trip.

Positive: The staff was absolutely amazing. The service was above and beyond and they exceeded our expectations. The view was probably the best view I've ever had in a place I stayed in. The yoga room was well equipped, and the room was out of this world.

Negative: The water pressure in the shower was quite low.

Positive: The location, the decoration, the cleanliness and the overall equipment and comfort of the villa. Also the amazing ocean view.

Negative: The fact that the restaurant is operated by a third party. Things didn't go very smoothly for us, guests. The lack of illumination in the very steep paths to the villas, something that is a huge hazard risk.
