Villa Villenia is a 16th century villa built on a valley side in a small village. There are stunning views from the garden. There are many excellent restaurants in the locality: supermarkets are nearby. The house is large with five double bedrooms; a further room with a double bed settee; a large marbled formal room; a music room with murals; a large living room; a study and library; a modern kitchen with all facilities; a large dining room; four bathrooms including a jacuzzi; a garden with outside eating area and the swimming pool. We bought and restored the house in 2002, including specially commissioned furniture. There is parking for three cars at the front of the house as well as a shrine to the Virgin Mary. There are many festivals in the area, which guests can attend as well as the many beautiful Tuscan towns and villages.

Summary: Our party of 6 from Colorado, Vancouver and the UK were thoroughly enchanted and enthralled at this house in the hills of Tuscany. Rich in collectibles from all over the world, the house is full of multi-level surprises. Fabulous garden and pool. The owners (John and Zaiby) were immensely gracious in providing us with local history and guidance for a maximum regional experience.

Summary: Villa Villenia exceeded our already high expectations when we chose this property for a special family holiday. It proved to be an ideal base for exploring the Garfagnana, Lucca and is only 40 minutes from the beach resort of Viraggio. The villa has many spacious rooms and is well equipped to easily accommodate 10 people. The pool and terrace were very popular with all of our party and the kitchen dining area was used for most of our evening meals rather than the formal dining room. It was always a delight to return from our explorations to this lovely villa. Communication with the owner was cordial and very helpful, his responses to our myriad questions were prompt, friendly and fully answered our enquiries. The location of this villa is ideal for those who are seeking to get away from it all. Fabulous!
