The ski resorts Valdesqui and Navacerrada are 45 minutes away by car. Salamanca, Avila and Cuenca are two hours away.
- From the south facing upstairs balcony there are views of up to 80 kilometres to the south and east. To the west and north is the Guadarama mountain range and La Pedriza national park.

The metro is one of the most efficient in Europe and runs from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Summary: A huge and gorgeous house with great views in a very beautiful mountain town. only 40 minute drive to Madrid center and 20 minutes to a gorgeous New Castle of Manzanares el Real. Owner is fast to respond and a good host. House is on a steep mountain slope with a small road with two way traffic but still could park a big van right across without a problem.

Summary: We stayed in the house for 10 days and it was ideal. Two families with 3 kids in each. Plenty of room for everyone. Kids were kept occupied the whole time with swimming pool, table tennis and trampoline. Loads of outdoor seating/loungers in the shade and in the sun. Kitchen has everything you need. Tommy gave us loads of information about the house/ahead beforehand. Lovely area. Car is advised though we had an excellent time without one

Summary: This was our first time visiting this part of Spain. We had a very enjoyable stay and loved the area. Our 3 teenage boys were with us and they loved the table tennis table and swimming pool and the lovely outside area with plenty of room for kicking a ball around outside. The house was perfect - spacious and plenty of light. It was well equipped and the spacious kitchen had everything you needed for cooking at home, we also made great use of the barbecue. The house is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The owner was very helpful and the house was lovely and clean. Hope to visit again in the future.

Summary: Stayed here late September - 10 of us - 4 adults and 6 teenagers. Pool was still open so great for everybody as it was still hot. Teenagers loved the trampoline, the table tennis table, the big flat screen TV, the fast wifi connection and the 5 a side football in the top part of garden. Adults loved the two barbecues and the spacious house which is well maintained and very clean. Village very pictoresque and easy to walk to. We only used car for shopping. Owner very helpful. See you again next year.

Summary: We had a great time here on our first visit to Spain. The owner was very helpful and the house was totally comfortable.We stayed for a week last October. Marvellous house in a wonderful setting and very close to everything - bars, restaurants and shops were all within walking distance. There are 4 double bedrooms upstairs, all very roomy with plenty of space for an extra fold up bed (provided) if necessary. The fifth bedroom downstairs is small but pleasant with a sofa bed for two. The house was very bright with sunshine streaming in all day until late in the evening. Garden is set on two levels with easy access by steps or ramp and has plenty to keep all ages busy - pool and trampoline on lower level and football area, barbecue and dining area next to house and other side swings for smaller kids. Overall excellent value for money in a beautiful setting (we didn't know that there were such beautiful mountains- great hiking trails!!!!- so close to the city of Madrid.). Highly recommended! Summary: We stayed here for a week last July. There were 8 of us and we all found it very roomy, clean and well maintained. In some respects the house and garden were better than appeared on photos. We had 4 children under the age of 14 who really enjoyed the ample space of the garden and especially the pool and trampoline. Most evenings we walked into village for drinks and tapas - delightful village, centre is fully pedestrianised - and strolled back at night. We will certainly return when we get the chance.

Summary: Just back from a week at this house in April 2009. Wonderful house which provided everything. Kids (and some of the adults) had a great time on the trampoline and table tennis table. The house is situated high up above the village of Miraflores so fantastic views in all directions. Very pleasant spacious garden – ideal for sunbathing, eating out under shade of oak tree or 5 a side football matches. The village centre (less than ten minutes walk down – a bit more to walk back up) had a selection of outdoor bars and restaurants which were a joy to sit at. The town hall run internet centre was free of charge and provided an excellent service. Highly recommended – will be back. Roisin

Summary: This home is in a beautiful little village that is only 15 minutes or so from all the major roads in each direction and the main highway that runs north (to Burgos) and south (to Madrid). Its only about 40 minutes from mountain peaks (near skiing and hiking). The 45 minute drive from the Madrid airport was easy. The home sits high on a hill overlooking the valley, providing gorgeous views. The garage is separate (off the street) but handy if you have a car. The home is spacious, and is more of a family home than a high-end, resort-type setting. We found it to be perfect for our family of five, providing each teenager with a bedroom and three bath/showers to choose from. We visited in March, and the town (Miraflores) really didn't come to life until the weekend. But on Sat and Sunday the highlight was to sit in the mornings or afternoons in the plaza, sample the local coffee/wine/beer and watch the people of the village and their families. The town boasts two really great pastry shops, a butcher, a fish-shop, two cheese shops, a fruit/vegetable shop and two really well stocked grocery stores, plus numerous nice restaurants and cafes (and a tobacco shop with cuban cigars). It's a bit of a trick to catch them open, but once you figure out the rhythm of the place, it's fine. There are at least a couple large gas stations to choose from, and they seemed to be open fairly early and stay open well into the evening. The city center and all the shops are within about a 15 minute walk to the house, although the return walk is uphill and a good bit of exercise. I'd recommend walking it during the day, if possible, as it's a bit of a trick to find your way down into the city. The tourist booth just off the city square opened on the weekend, and they provide a nice map to help you find your way around (both the town and the region). We took day trips to Toledo, Madrid, El Escorial, Segovia and an overnight trip to Leon/Burgos. Driving was very reasonable but a GPS is highly recommended for navigating within the larger cities (and finding parking). It was always a pleasure to return to this home and be able to spread out and relax. I would love to return and spend a week sitting on the upstairs deck that looks over the valley, or sitting on the plaza in the sun watching the locals.
