Positive: Sarah is putting together a stellar, sustainable paradise in the mountains of central Crete. Her taste in colour and aesthetics are unparalleled. She works hard moving things along and the authenticity of this historic property is the better for it. (One of the exterior doors features the best shade of green I've ever seen. :) There were drinks available which was nice, also she gave great suggestions for places to visit. In the room the a/c worked fantastic. I sort of enjoyed trying to make the cramped shower area work (lol, Mini Cottage). The kitchen was minimal but enough to make pasta. The 'Seaview' from the room is also minimal but it is there. Bed was quite comfortable. And her own homemade soap! These are the unique, authentic places I always seek out. However it is Sarah herself and her generous nature that is the true charm of this flourishing mountain escape.

Negative: I can't dock Sarah for this one as it's out of her control, but I feel it must be said: Adjacent to the north side resides a very, very loud family. It was constant, and unfortunately distracted from the environment. (NOTE: I don't fault them either, I know they are a young family and the property is immediately adjacent). But it was brutal. And when that wasn't happening, the 'local dog barking competition' was. I say this because it's a charming place but not one for lack of noise. Maybe it's not always that way? I tried to combat it by playing Chopin on my phone out the window. I tried also to take coffee on the terrace but usually it was scream scream and bark bark. I know I'm sensitive to that more than others and prefer quiet, but wanted to ensure I mentioned it. Other rooms may have been quieter. It was at least quiet at night when sleeping. That said, I would stay here again in a heartbeat for positive reasons! :)

Summary: Wonderful mountain stay with stellar views and perfect host! Near lots of beautiful spots as well!

Positive: Lovely host Sarah was so helpful, even lending me sturdy shoes to walk safely in the steep terrain. It was so tranquil, quiet and lush, with the most jaw-dropping views of mountains and sea from the terrace and rooms. Attentive Mr. Paddington Cat, guest services, was ever present to entertain us. Didn't want to leave!

Negative: We should have rented a car. The taxi costs really added up. Next time we will!

Positive: First of all, Sarah the host. She welcomed us and was very helping and commited to make our stay the best. We also liked the way her place is designed, with her unique touch and style. The common areas our lovely and the rooftop has the most amazing view of the valey and the sea. Our room was cozy, nice and arranged well relatively to its size. The story of the place is very special and the history of the building (dating to the venetian times!). It was also nice to discovet that Sarah operates the place with eco-friendly approach and the soaps are natural and hand-made and thay try to reduce use of plastics. High value to our budget and super great hospitality❤️

Negative: Its hard to say something negative because we loved it, and it was great for us, but we can say that there are stairs from street level down to the rooms and it was a little difficult to carry our luggage down and up at check in and check out. Also, the kitchennete was a bit small, but had all that is needed to cook (we like cooking to ourselves) and what was missing Sarah immediatly found for us and gave us.

Positive: The place is absolutely enchanting. It’s full of character and has spectacular views. The owner is very accessible, friendly and helpful.

Negative: I didn’t like the bathroom that was way too cramped, and the door to the bathroom was hard to open.

Summary: Regardless of the small inconvenience, I wholeheartedly recommend the place.
