Positive: This was our favourite stay in all of Iceland! The location is amazing, the host greeted us and made us feel welcomed and it was clean and warm. Even the small details like the scavenger hunt made the experience so special. This is a MUST stay.

Negative: That we had to leave.

Positive: Cute place with an incredible view. Just outside of town, you felt like you had were away from everything and still was able to enjoy a 15 minute beautiful walk to the town of Seydisfjordur. It was a perfect 1 night stop for us on our way to Hofn. It was the most expensive of the places we stayed at and space was a little small inside but the view and the hot tub were amazing.

Positive: This cabin is in a lovely spot with excellent views (when the weather permits!) and is a leisurely walk to a lovely waterfall. The owner dropped by to check we'd settled in OK and brought us a box of chocolate biscuits to welcome us (which was very thoughtful). The lounge-living area is quite spacious and comfortable and there were numerous radiators that we could adjust to control the temperature and keep the cottage as warm/cool as we needed to (we like to sleep in a cool bedroom so this was great). We stayed for two nights and on the second night the skies cleared enough for us to see the northern lights (although taking pictures was tricky as the cabins have outside lights that come on automatically, and that we couldn't seem to turn off).

Negative: On this trip we've spent 3 weeks traveling around the whole of Iceland and this was the most expensive (per night) accommodation we stayed in. We decided to pay the higher price as the images seemed to suggest the cabins were in the middle of nowhere and looked across the fjord to pristine wilderness. It's difficult for pictures to show things in their true context, but we found the kitchen area and bathroom to be very cramped, with almost nowhere to put anything we'd brought with us. Fortunately, we traveled as a couple, so could use the spare bedrooms to store our luggage (there was no room to have even one suitcase open in the bedroom we used). Similarly, trying to find space in the bathroom for our toiletries was challenging. The bedrooms are so small that we had to get in and out of bed from one side as the other side was up against the wall. This meant clambering over each other if one of us wanted to get up during the night. Similar cabins we've stayed in during our trip were cheaper and had far more space in the bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen and included a dishwasher. One cottage even included a washing machine which was very useful when traveling for a few weeks. This property is probably far better value for people holidaying with their children where the cost per night ends up being more reasonable.
