Bring the family and your fishing gear! We are on the lake! Cozy, beachy cottage with AC, heat, wifi and all amenities. We have a Smart TV in both living areas and both bedrooms.
No animals please.
We are Inspected and Licensed!
Sunroom with beautiful view of the lake for stunning sunrise views across the lake. Long pier with a large "L" portion and sturdy bumpers on 2 sides for your boat. We also have 3 kayaks with life preservers which are highly recommended. This lake gets very rough very fast so wear those vests. We recommend to trailer your boat if a storm is coming.
We have 2 bedrooms, sleeps 4 to 9 comfortably. Very comfy beds! Main bedroom has has a queen platform bed, an office space & Tv in the closet. 2nd room has a double platform bed and a bunk with futon double on bottom & twin on top and space for a pack n play. Sunroom has a queen sleeper sofa. One bathroom with stand up shower and an additional heated, private shower outdoors to clean up after a day at the beach or lake.
On the west side of Castle Rock Lake 75' from the waters edge and near one of the best fishing spots on the lake. 50' pier to accommodate your boat. Boat launch is 1/2 mile south by The Dirty Turtle. Boat rentals close by at Caslte Rock Watersports.
Our lakefront is great for swimmers and non swimmers alike with a sandy bottom 2 to 6 feet deep depending on variable lake depth or use the public beach a 1/2 mile walk away. Campfire ring by the lake. Deer, fox and other wildlife wander the property on quiet days and nights. Close to snowmobile & 4 wheeling trails and great ice fishing in the winter. Yard games and kids toys in garage.
There's an Espresso machine at our coffee bar and a bean grinder. We supply the fresh roasted coffee beans, flavor syrups and whole milk to make your favorite espresso, latte or cappuccino. You won't miss your coffee shop at all! We also have a Tassimo coffee maker for pod style coffees, cappuccinos and lattes. Bed Bath & Beyond or Amazon has lots of flavors for the Tassimo so bring your favorites for a great cup of coffee to sip on the pier or in the sunroom while watching that sunrise! There is still a standard 12 cup coffee maker and an 8 cup coffee press for more coffee choices.
Great restaurants around the lake area for steak, burger, pizza & sandwiches. 15 minutes from Mauston, 25 minutes from Tomah for smaller town shopping and more restaurants or 30 minute from Wisconsin Dell's.
Fully stocked kitchen, over the range microwave, full size stove/oven, toaster oven, slow cooker, bullet mixer/ blender, a giant non stick frying pan for a feast, and a large pot for a fish boil or pot of soup. Dishwasher, disposer, washer & dryer for laundry and weber kettle charcoal grill. And again a private heated outdoor shower to free up bathroom time.
All bedding & pillows provided as well as all kitchen linens. Bring your own hygiene items, paper goods, firewood and charcoal. There's a brick paver patio with picnic table (converts to benches) and patio tables and chairs for plenty of seating and a well lit yard and pier.
Fast WiFi that reaches outside!
3 TVs, 2 with Directv, Netflix and Disney+. There is a PS3 with Bluray & 1 controller (bring your own games). The TV with only a DVD player is in the bunk room, child friendly DVDs are on the shelf.
Amazing hiking and climbing just north at Petenwell Bluffs. One of our favorite spots! Across from The Woodbine Restaurant you'll find parking along 19 th Avenue at the intersection of Hwy 21 just before the bridge and a little further south. Gorgeous views of Petenwell Lake even if you can't make it to the top. Plenty of hiking if you're not into the climb but don't miss this day trip!

Summary: We so enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The view was just beautiful. The host and hostess were amazing and they met all of our needs and wants. We enjoyed the deer in the front yard as they munched on the apples. they also got their needs met. The lake was beautiful and it was a very peaceful environment . They or the neighbor had an American flag on a pole with a light on it. It's nice to see such patriotism. The neighbor was nice also. Overall was a great vacation.

Summary: Judy and Dennis are the most thoughtful hosts we’ve ever encountered. All we needed to bring was food and fishing poles. They supplied many condiments and great cooking equipment. We fished right off the very stable and large dock. We caught walleye, small and large mouth bass that were 8 to 14 inches long. We saw deer, a red fox and a bald eagle flew right above the pier. If you’re looking for peace and quiet this is the place.

Summary: We chose this property because of the view, the pictures of the house, and the easy access to the dock for fishing (no steps or hills.) It exceeded every expectation!! The house is well-furnished and has so many fun lake house touches — plus the awesome coffee bar! The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The beds are very comfortable, with plenty of extra blankets and pillows. There is a Dollar General within minutes, and a great full-service grocery in Mauston, about 15 minutes away. There are several nice places to eat nearby. Actually, that is the best part of the location. The cabin itself is in a quiet area, but it is close to shopping and dining. You can do as much or as little as you like. Something you will not want to miss are the fabulous sunrises. Even on vacation , it is worth setting your alarm! My husband had great success fishing from the dock. Catfish, walleye, perch, white bass = happy guy! Because of an algae outbreak, we did not swim or kayak as planned, but were told by the locals that it’s seasonal and that activities are still OK. We were still able to enjoy the sunny days, and adventures to nearby Buckhorn State Park, and the Necedah Natl Wildlife Preserve. Judy is a responsive and fabulous host. We had a problem with the Internet provider when we arrived, and she jumped through hoops to get it fixed. As it turned out, being disconnected was a blessing in disguise. There is so much to love about this peaceful, quiet hideaway!

Summary: This property is a gem. We have stayed at this cottage for several years now. Dennis and Judy are very welcoming. The check-in and checkout is very clearly communicated and the texts regarding things to do in the area and upcoming weather is very helpful. The response to emails and texts are very timely if there are questions or concerns. The cottage is clean and very well kept. All the amenities needed are available, from cooking utensils, bedding, towels, grill outside, beach toys, etc. This is so helpful when packing for a lake trip. The view from the cottage is divine! We spend much of our day outside enjoying the view, playing in or on the lake. Evenings are spent playing family games and laughing. This family vacation is a time to relax, enjoy beautiful Castle Rock Lake and to enjoy our time together as a family without the pressures of the outside world. We are thankful that we have found this property and more thankful that we have been allowed to stay here. Our kids absolutely love this place and ask to come back each year! Summary: Judy is excellent with communication. The cottage is comfortable and inviting. It's like being at home. Very family/children friendly. They have thought of everything you need for a comfortable vacation. We enjoyed a much needed family vacation on the lake relaxing, boating, and fishing. Fantastic backyard, dock, and view! The grandchildren loved the sand with sand digger and toys. We all enjoyed watching the deer and visiting with the neighbor. Truly like being at home away from home. Absolutely phenomenal!
