From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed so warmly by Mark and Stacy, the most thoughtful and accommodating hosts you could wish for. Their attention to detail, kindness, and genuine passion for making every guest feel special truly made our stay unforgettable. Traveling with four children can sometimes be a challenge, but not here – our kids were in absolute heaven! The facilities were spot on: safe, clean, and packed with things to keep them entertained for hours. But the real highlight for all of us was the stunning lake. The kids spent every spare moment by the water – exploring, fishing, paddle boarding, and enjoying the peaceful beauty of the surroundings. It felt like we’d found a hidden slice of paradise. The lodge itself was spotless, comfortable, and perfectly equipped for a family of six. Every little touch had been thought through, from cozy bedding to the layout that gave everyone their own space without feeling crowded. We honestly didn’t want to leave – and we’re already planning our return. A huge thank you again to Mark and Stacy for creating such a magical place, my little one hasn’t stopped talking about his new best friend ‘Mark’ SO sweet!

The lake and the stunning scenery created the perfect peaceful escape, ideal for morning coffees on the balcony and sunset strolls. We also absolutely loved meeting the adorable goats and friendly dogs on the property — such a unique and wholesome touch that added to the charm of the entire experience. If you're looking for a tranquil retreat in nature with all the comforts of a thoughtfully built lodge and the hospitality of a genuinely lovely host, this is the place. Positive: Such a great visit! Lovely hosts. Went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Mark literally went out of his way, and very kindly dropped us in the local village when we needed a lift. Really nice people and couldn't have asked for more from them. The accommodation was first rate with everything you could want. Quiet, peaceful and with lovely views of their lake and the surrounding countryside. Lots to do in surrounding areas too, including several local historic villages. Mark is very knowledgeable about the local history and there are also bikes on site that you can use to explore!

Positive: The owners were very accommodating as we weren't going to get to the property to well after midnight due to going to a wedding during the day, they had left a light on for us so our lodge was easy to find and a key code box to gain entry - Perfect. There was a very good kitchenette within the lodge which was stocked with all utensils, crockery etc that you could need - so we made our own breakfast. It was very clean, tidy and little touches made it homely.

Negative: Not a lot to dislike to be honest - maybe one trivial fact that there was only one glass that we could use for our orange juice - so I used a wine glass - wasn't the end of the world but I can't think of anything else negative to write.

Summary: Ideal for a couple of days get away where you just want beautiful views and piece and quiet.
