Uniquely located on both Cannon Lake and the Sakatah Singing Hills State trail. This private lake house has many modern updates yet historic character. You can enjoy the charm of staying on a nonoperating farm along with 150 feet of lakeshore. We have bikes, kayaks, yard games and a barn game room all free to use. Cannon Lake is the largest lake in Rice County at nearly 1600 acres. Faribault and the surrounding area also has many great restaurants, shops, parks and 10 more lakes within 10 miles. This is an ideal location for family or friend getaways.
This newly refurbished 100-year-old lake house with modern farmhouse architecture has black windows, original hardwood floors, and a view of the lake from nearly every room. The kitchen, dining room and living room has an open floor concept ideal for friends or family entertainment. Be amazed with a very unique upstairs with century old barn wood walls along with many repurposed antique farm details. The extremely large yard is ideal for yard games or relaxing by the lake. The barn game room has on open loft with ping pong, electronic dart board and other games to enjoy. Note the game room barn has no heat and not useable in winter months. End your day with beautiful sunsets over the water from the dock or by the campfire.
There is a discount for stays 1 week or longer. We recommend you book early for Shattuck-St. Mary’s School, St. Olaf College and Carlton College functions as they book very early. There is a minimum night stay of 4 nights the end of May through September and 3 nights outside those dates. We also have 2 kayaks, a canoe, several bikes, yard games, fire wood, a dock and an extremely large private yard all free to use. Summary: The Lake House is amazing! The owners have thought of everything a renter may need. It is quaint and thoughtfully decorated with many creative features. The game room Barn is a real bonus along with the many places to relax outside. The Lake is absolutely beautiful! I would be very happy to be able to stay there for weeks.It is now #1 on my list of places I have rented. We will definitely rent again when we visit Fairbault.Thanks Ted & Angie for making our reunion weekend special.

Summary: We had three generations staying at the Lake House Farm and enjoyed every minute. It has everything necessary to cook meals, easy access, the lake is beautiful, and the game barn and amenities that are available (bikes, games and boats) just added to the experience. Much of our time was spent on the porch and patio just enjoying the view and each other. There is something for everyone to enjoy with this property.

Summary: What an absolutely incredible stay! What more could one ask for than a lake out the front door and a bike trail out the back door! We quickly realized how much love and care the owners invest in this property! The farm house is full of charm and cleanliness is top notch! The polished look continues throughout the property! The game barn…spotless! Fresh weed less mulched areas, perfectly mowed and trimmed lawn….easily one of our favorite stays! The owners are to be commended for making our stay so memorable!

Summary: Ted & Angie were amazing hosts! Very well communicated, friendly, and so thoughtful. The house is in a beautiful location, right on the water. There were so many fun board games, books, and little meaningful details all throughout the home. We stayed with friends and family for an out-of-town softball tournament and couldn't have been happier! The house has so many details and history to it and I loved the vintage homestead vibe. The house was very clean, very organized, and very well kept. We absolutely loved the game barn and the fire pit (although we didn't get the chance to use it). I had a great time teaching my 5 year old son how to play Mancala, search for crawdads by the water, watching all the baby goslings, playing lawn darts in the yard and blowing bubbles. There was a fully stocked coffee bar and there were things available such as batteries, bug spray, sunscreen, extra toiletries, etc. They really went above and beyond to make it such a great experience for their guests. We would love to visit again for a family trip soon! If we could leave 10 stars, we would! :D

Summary: Every year we take a trip to a cabin for a girls weekend so we are always on the hunt for a unique place to stay. This property was perfect! There was enough beds for everyone and it was very clean. Loved all the decor! The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed (thank you for a regular coffee pot). The game barn was great since our one full day there was a chilly/rainy! Faribault is a nice quaint town that we definately plan on coming back to! Thank you Angie and Ted for all the small touches in the house to make it feel like a home for the weekend!

Summary: We were only able to stay 2 nights but really loved the house & the amenities. Hopefully we can come back for a longer stay with our adult children. Loved having the game barn & all the recreation provided with the bikes, kayaks & canoe.
