Positive: I stayed 10 nights in La Roca House and I highly recommend it! Duber and Clemence are amazing hosts. They organise amazing activities (scuba diving, surf, fish trip, boat trip, tortugas and many others), and give you all the tips to make your trip an amazing memory. The place was clean, perfectly located (30m from the beach, next to a bar and snack, and a short walk from El valle). It felt really authentic and the best place to mix tourists with locals! We were supposed to stay 3 nights, ended up with 10. A great testimony to the place awesomeness! I will come back. Thanks again.

Positive: We (a couple) stayed for 10 days with Duber and Clem. Their house is beautiful, and both of them are very welcoming. Since it’s a small hostel, you feel like part of the family. The beach is just 30 meters away, and when we were there, we were often alone on it. In the evening, you can enjoy a drink at Duber’s bar right in front of the hostel. We loved our stay (we initially planned to stay only three days!). They can organize many activities for and with you, such as surfing, boat trips around the island with fishing, beach lunches, snorkeling, scuba diving, and even baby turtle releases. I highly recommend this place, and we hope to be back soon 😍

Positive: A little paradise on earth. Beautiful kitchen, comfortable beds and located right on the beach. The activities were superbly organized. The owners were incredibly welcoming and easy to deal with. The village of El Valle is very safe. You get the feeling that tourists and locals live hand in hand. Fantastic atmosphere.

Positive: Right on the beach, very quiet and peaceful. We saw a whale from the balcony on our first day! Comfy beds, great WiFi, a small but well equipped kitchen & 10 min walk to the village. The host was really lovely - took us on a beautiful hike where we fished, drank from fresh coconuts & cooked what we’d fished on a fire on the beach! He also cooked us the freshest tuna we’d ever eaten with homemade coconut milk. One of the best meals we’ve eaten on our trip!
Negative: Minor water pressure issues but these were quickly fixed.
Summary: Beautiful location & an exceptional host.

Positive: I had the whole shared room to myself. Very relaxing. I enjoyed access to the shared kitchen. The hostess was very amicable.
Negative: 1.Loud, VERY loud, music at a party held in a beach hut across the way one night. Booming music from 10:00 p.m. - 03:00 a.m. So, there was no possibility of sleep. 2. I thought my card was charged for my stay. As I was leaving to catch a boat I had to stop and pay the hostess. I would have appreciated knowing this ahead of time so I could have had it paid. 3. Lots of stairs to room, kitchen and bathroom.

Just be ready — you’re not only close to nature, you are in nature — so expect a rustic stay with all the sounds and elements that come with it. It works well if you want a practical base to explore the area, but it’s not for travelers looking for comfort or amenities.
Negative: I understand this is a rustic hotel with only basic necessities, but that doesn’t mean cleanliness should be overlooked. The bathroom was quite dirty and disorganized, and the kitchen, while very basic, wasn’t well equipped or properly clean.
