The house has been beautifully restored and expanded. The thick stone walls keep the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter. A woodburner heats the house, wood is free. A kitchen with dining table, well-equipped, 1 sleeping area (mezzanine for 2 people). In the sitting room a wood stove. Electric heating in bathroom and kitchen. The couch in the living room can be converted into a bed (1.40 m).
Bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. There is wifi.
Various seating areas outside in the sun or under the apple trees. There is a swimming pool (5x10m) shared with the owner. The owner lives on the property.
Signposted hiking trails start right outside the door. There is a lot of wildlife in the woods and the nightingale sings while you admire the most beautiful starry sky.
In the area you can eat delicious food, visit nice markets, old towns and museums and prehistoric places or beautiful gardens. You can also take a nice canoe trip on the Dordogne or the Vézère or go cycling. The house is not suitable for small children, we have not taken safety measuresfor them. Summary: We had a great stay in La Petite. Cosy and authentic, yet comfortable and clean. Make sure to enjoy the sunset, it’s amazing right there on the patio. Nice central location to discover the region. Agnes is a fantastic host, spoiling her guests with fresh picked fruits every morning.

Summary: Located in a lovely quiet forested area a few miles from the nearest towns, the cottage is well appointed with all you will need, including no tv ! Ideally located for visiting the many beautiful Dordogne and Lot scenic places, the property has a garden of acres of land, including a dovecot with a resident barn owl which we were privileged to see. The owner Agnes lives adjacent to the cottage and is so helpful with any questions/queries you have about the area and amenities, especially restaurants. She certainly helped make our stay a very pleasant one. If you want to get "back to nature" then this will suit you well.

Summary: The 'gite' is lovely and has everything you need for a peaceful holiday. The gardens and surrounding buildings are unspoilt and make you just want to unwind. The pool is a very good size and the days that we were not out & about exploring, we had it to ourselves, the kids loved it! Agnes is so welcoming and instantly makes you feel at home. The property is not far from the Dordogne river, where you can do various things, we did a canoe trip along part of it, which the kids loved. If we are ever in that region of France again, we would not hesitate to go back & stay...

Summary: We really enjoyed two weeks in this delightful cottage. The location is beautiful and a great base from which to explore the attractions of the Dordogne. The accommodation is spacious and set up with a double sofa bed plus two single beds which can be pulled together. There is shared use of the owners pool but we found we had private use when we wanted it. The entrance to the cottage is separate from the main house so you can came and go whenever you like. Agnes (the owner) was very welcoming. She invited us to some local events which was a very pleasant surprise. Such care has been taken to make sure the gite has a all you need for your stay including internet, homemade jams in the fridge and plenty of tourist information leaflets. Ideal just for two but could work as a family accommodation though the lounge and bedroom and open to each other (bed platform over). We felt it was very well priced for all that you got. We would recommend this to anyone considering holidays in this area and hope to return ourselves one day.
