Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: We loved the swimming pool and that the gite had almost everything we needed. The caretakers Mike and Alison were brilliant, as were their dogs. The place was clean and comfortable, with an indoor pool that was very useful on rainy days and a peaceful rural setting amongst farms. The golf area was a good idea but we didn't use it. The gite was well equipped and we always had hot water for showers.

Negative: The gite needs a bit of maintenance - a new fridge seal, an oven that stays lit, a shower that drains, an HDMI cable for the TV and repaired roof (torrential rain overnight caused a leak in a top floor room). None of these caused us to have a bad time and we still enjoyed being there, but wary that others may not see it the same way. Being surrounded by farms, there were lots of flies - something to be expected. So turn up with some fly spray and a swatter or two. Also visitors beware that the road/track from Maupertuis to La Pagerie is private and the farmer does not like people driving over his farmyard. Instead take the short road direct from the D13. The location means there isn't much within walking distance.
