Summary: Most beautiful grounds and location right on the edge of the canyon. The condors soar by every morning and afternoon. It is very remote and rustic but with everything you need! And no busloads of tourists

Summary: Beautiful rustic property on the edge of the canyon. The views are unbelievable, the condors are amazing, we saw some each of the 3 days we were there. Edgar and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful. Comments regarding no heat and the rooms be cold at night are quite accurate. We stayed Sept 18-20 and it was cold at night. However there are plenty of blankets and if you sleep in thermals and socks you’ll be fine. Nice shower and hot water. You can arrange taxi service to Cananaconde if you’re trekking from there. Edgar took us to town (50 /s) and picked us up the following day when we came back up from Sangalle Oasis. Be aware the hotel is ~1.5km from the road, up a driveway I would not want to walk up carrying my backpacks. We’ve been to some awesome places in our travels -this hotel in # 1 or 2 for the views!

Summary: Location wonderful! You will see condors! Can trek if you wish or just chill overlooking the canyon. They have llama and alpaca’s. Take pictures in their natural environment Isolated and you have to eat in the hotel. Food range limited. Cooked well in general

Summary: Best views ever. It’s rustic but what a fantastic experience to be on the top of the Andes and to see condors fly pass as you’re having your coffee. It was priceless!!

But if you want an authentic, once-in-a-lifetime experience in one of the most spectacular locations on Earth, with some of the friendliest and most helpful people you'll ever meet, La Granja del Colca is absolutely perfect.

Summary: This quirky hotel is in a spectacular location in Colca Canyon. The staff are very welcoming and warm which is great as it gets very cold in winter. Just take ear plugs for potential dog barking but definitely worth a stay at La Granja.

Summary: An amazing, unique place to stay. It’s so remote and the views are incredible! The condors really do fly straight past the property - you wouldn’t even need to leave! Access can be tricky but very manageable - we booked a public bus from Arequipa to cabanaaconde and you have to tell the driver where you want to get off. The staff at La Granja came to pick us up from here. We booked through La Granja for a smaller minibus back to Arequipa which involved a few stops at viewpoints on the way home. A point to note - there isn’t really anywhere else to buy food or drink other than the restaurant (which is great) so factor this in to budgetting! It’s a 45min walk to La Cruz del condor and the walks in all directions from La granja are fantastic! Would definitely recommend and worth spending a couple of nights here to fully unwind and get to experience everything it has to offer.

Summary: Where to begin, La Granja del Colca WHAT A PLACE!! We are touring Peru and found this place. We drove from Ica which was a 14hr drive, which meant that we arrived in the late hours of day, even though it was late Anita greeted us with an Andean herb hot tea. During our drive we unfortunately got sick, we ended up passing a poor night, the next morning we had the pleasure to meet Walter the owner of La Granja del Colca and he treated us like family, they served us with a special menu so our stomachs would recover he also gave us the history of this great place and how little by little they have expanded to what it is today a cozy paradise above the canyon. Mr. Walter also provided us information on a clinic in town and went above and beyond in offering us a room to stay at his hotel Kuntur Wassi Colca Hotel for a few hours after the doctor visit so that my girlfriend could rest. There I met his wife Caterina in which shewas more than accommodating and friendly. Then came Edgar the person overseeing La Granja, among some of the best treatment we have received, he also heard that we needed a medicine that was only available in a city about three hours from here. That night He calls me to tell me that he had arranged someone to bring us the medicine the next morning. Wow we ended staying an additional day to enjoy all the alpacas, some great Condor sightings and all from the confort of this paradise in the canyon. More than recommend!!
