Positive: We were looking for an experience different from a usual hotel stay & La Chartreuse Haut-Bailly definitely offered that. The Chateau is clean and beautiful. Can tell they refurbished it & tastefully done with it’s own charm. The breakfast experience is superb, just like it was mentioned in other review. We can tell the host takes a lot of pride in preparing the breakfast from table layout to the food. It’s not just tastefully done, it’s delicious as well. We looked forward to breakfast everyday. We left something behind after check out and the staff arranged it to be shipped back to our country of residence. We were so grateful for that so thank you so much to the team at La Chartreuse Haut-Bailly for your hospitality. 😌
Negative: 1) lock faulty to the connecting family room. Privacy was compromised. Lucky it was low season & we were the ones there. If the chateaux is full, it would have been a bummer. Staff should have checked and ensure prior to arrival since we booked a family room. 2) no lifts so unless you can handle your large luggage, small hand carry are recommended. We did fine.

Positive: Beautiful house, beautiful setting, friendly and helpful staff. We only stayed one night and wished it could have been longer.
Negative: We were the only ones there on the night we stayed. It’s a big big house to be alone in. Go with a group. The canelles in the upstairs tea and coffee cupboard had been there for some days and were inedible.

Positive: A beautifully renovated place. We just used the accommodation but I understand that there are options to visit the winery attached. Breakfast is simple and communal - we were very happy with that.

Positive: Excellent! everything was perfect! Gorgeous place very peaceful with an amazing team. Everything was perfect! Beautiful chateau nicely restored and decorated with great test. The team is best in class with great attention to details (big thank you to Nicolas). House, garden, pool, bicycles, food, amazing wine, spirit… nothing can be faulted. A big thank you to the Wilmers family for providing access to this “havre a de paix”. We will be back.
