Positive: Large house on 2 floors on the main street of the village of Charly sur Marne. We rented it because we had some family matters to attend, a place that we could, eventually consider to put up more family members if needed. We didn't need to. The house has been renovated, all in tones of white, grey, white. Plenty of space. It is clean with everything you need to cook if needed. The village hasn't much to offer to eat out (only a kebab place on the same main street for take away, that we found very friendly, food is clean and plentiful), and a small shop where you can find decent wine (try the Cambras, great value for good quality wine). Bedrooms are on the street side, so a bit of traffic noise early morning. Easy parking on the main street opposite the house. A good base to do some champagne tasting.
Negative: The powerful smell of drains. Not nice. We wrote to the owner about this, so that he can take care of the issue in a more appropriate way. Shower door in the downstairs bathroom not closing properly.
