Negative: Streets very very narrow & best to park in square below the home & walk up steep hill to charming, well appointed home.

Summary: Charming home in stunning home. Osteria Gulèa was exceptional culinary experience in modern Sicilian mountain cuisine

Positive: What a fantastic apartment. Advertised as 1 bedroom, but it is 3 floors so there are 2 double bedrooms, and a beautiful big shower in the bathroom. Great for a family. It is very modern and clean, with everything you need. Our host was very helpful. Caltabellotta is a gorgeous hilltop town, so you have to park out a little bit and walk, but it was no problem as we packed overnight bags.

Negative: Difficult to get to by car.. need to walk last part to home cannot drive to it A/c does not work efficiently and top floor hot during night We also had to turn off a/c due to the noise it made during the night Noisy fridge

Positive: good location. Beautifully furnished and decorated inside. Washer was a big plus as was the very large shower. The home had pretty much everything you would want or need in a vacation home, including a full kitchen, large spacious bathroom and separate sleeping area on the third floor. Steps up to each floor were easy. I had stayed at a different location in the past, but this was far superior to almost anything. I have stayed in during my trips to Sicily well decorated well thought out and well taken care of management was exceptional in their response to my needs and wants and questions. highly recommend this location if you’re ever in town

Negative: water pump needed to be shut off when not in use and overnight because of excessive noise which apparently bothered neighbors. Not a dealbreaker but not something I have run across before. Parking was good down the hill but the short walk uphill is a bit strenuous, if you’re not physically fit. The staff, however, was more than willing to help take luggage up the short walk and also to take it down.

Summary: exceptional property and staff. Highly recommend it.

Positive: Staying at La Casetta was just the most perfect experience for me traveling alone with my two children. The little house is surrounded by other little row houses (as all housing in Caltabellotta) but it is fully modernized and comfortable. Everything was so clean and well-decorated (it looks even better than the photos). The bathroom was beautiful, with a fantastic shower and plenty of hot water. If the weather is cool, there is plenty of heating and a small space heater for the bathroom. The location of the rental house is perfect because it is right above the main street that runs through Caltabellotta (Via Colonello Vita), yet it is sheltered from street noise from its location on a side street. Just a few meters away is a small shop ("sapori") where you can buy plenty of essentials and basic food; close nearby are also a dessert shop with traditional desserts (La Preferita) and a fine restaurant (Osteria Gulèa). The host, Lila, answered all my questions and is a warm, helpful, and extremely kind person. Also, Caltabellotta is a gem: friendly people, authentic culture, and a microcosm of gorgeous natural and artistic wonders. The neighbors will greet you every time you walk by. The shopkeepers will tell you your children are lovely. The view near the house on top of the mountain is AMAZING. We enjoyed our stay in Caltabellotta immensely-- it is the best kept secret in all of Sicily. I wish we could just live there! :D
