The sheepfold Divajeu Castle is a recently restored building located on an area of 25 hectares in a quiet valley with views of the surrounding mountains.
This spacious house has been recently renovated with taste and equipped with every comfort. It has a beautifully landscaped garden with lots of space, terraces and a swimming pool with a beautiful view.
The site can be closed by a gate. After the entrance hall with cloakroom a small staircase leads to a new kitchen with all required equipment. From the kitchen one enters a spacious and comfortable lounge that opens onto the terrace. The living room is furnished with a 3 seater sofa and armchairs, and fireplace. There is also a TV area with a DVD player.
On the ground floor, there is also a spacious bedroom with a queen bed. The en suite bathroom has two sinks, a tub and shower. A staircase leads upstairs to the little "pigeon tower", with still a large double bed. Downstairs you can still find a bathroom with sink, shower and toilet.
In a separate building with a small terrace and staircase, you will find a large bedroom with two single bed and one queen bed. The granny level there is a bathroom with sink, shower and separate toilet.
The large terrace (where you can relax before the outdoor fireplace) leads to the pool with fountain. Around the pool, relax in the sun loungers available on the lawn. There is enough space to park several cars on the ground.
Divajeu is a charming village in the Drôme valley, near the historic town of Crest. You will find some small shops Divajeu same, within 5 minutes from the house. Crest is 10 minutes drive and you will find many shops, supermarkets and various shops. There is also a very friendly weekly market.

Summary: Our family was very happy with our stay in Divajeu! The house and property exceeded expectations, which is rare in my experience. Very comfortable, clean, and well appointed house that includes modern design touches and amenities with a country charm. The kitchen has everything needed for home cooking, including a Nespresso machine and real knives! The garden, pool, and view is idyllic. While only minutes to the town of Crest, Soue and other charming villages, the location is very central to the Drome and Vercors region. Tim and Sandra were excellent to deal with and extremely responsive when needed. If you're looking for peace and quiet and easy access to the region, we highly recommend Tim and Sandra's place! Thank you both!

Summary: We stayed for the last week of May and first week of June. Weather was quite cool the first week, but warmer the next. That didn't stop us swimming in the really nice, larger than usual gite pool. The view from the terrace is stunning, with a small meadow beyond the pool in front of the house, and forest rolling up the hills in the distance with the mountains beyond. For nature lovers, it's brilliant, with small meadows literally next to the property, containing at least three Orchid species, and I counted 16 different species of butterfly, and there are plenty of moths, bees, and Praying Mantis too. There are plentiful beautiful villages and towns within an hour's drive to visit, which is mainly what we did. Tim and Sandra were lovely, and them being English, there was no language problems! All three of us thought that it was one of the best fortnight's we've spent in France during our 20 years of doing so. Graeme, Sandra & Lizzie.

Summary: A fabulous villa. With lots of space for everyone to find their sunbathing spot. Plenty of sun beds and seating for our group. The barbecue was fantastic and we ate outside every evening. No flies , maybe we were lucky and only some wasps which were manageable. You do have to drive up quite a long steep road but it is worth it as you are then in a secluded area with beautiful views. Swimming pool is large, swimmable and Julien is on hand to keep it clean. Crest is close by and a lovely little town. Some extra glasses , especially large ones would be helpful In the hot weather. The website also mentions air conditioning but we couldn't really function this and relied on fans. I think it is better to make this clear on the booking site. However, Tim and Sandra were quick to help out whenever we had any queries. It was really a fabulous stay .

Summary: Our stay here was a wonderful experience for three reasons. Firstly, the site is exceptionally beautiful with absolutely fantastic views and peaceful surroundings (well tended gardens and woods/forest nearby). Secondly, the house is well designed, spacious and tastefully decorated with a well equipped kitchen. Thirdly, the owner is very helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had.
