Positive: A charming and attractive small pension with gite in a quiet spot in Charente. It is made truly special by the warmth and kindness of exceptional hosts, Bastiaan and Melanie. Breakfasts are hearty, the very good value meal on our first night was a kind thought that saved us stress after a day's travel, and them taking trouble every day to chat about how our break was going, and to help when we had a puncture, was really welcome.

Negative: I honestly can't think of anything: the village is quiet and unassuming, and L'Ancien Cafe fits the part perfectly. I would happily stay again, and certainly recommend

Positive: Friendly, welcoming Dutch hosts. Bastiaan was great considering they weren't aware they're gite was being advertised yet! Error by booking.com. Beautifully renovated property. They'd clearly tried to think of everything to make guests comfortable. The floors were exceptionally cold but it is February & they did, thankfully provide 'slippers'! I imagine this will be a huge bonus in the summer heat anyway! Peaceful, quiet surroundings.
