Positive: We had an amazing stay at Kokoa Sands Guest House. From the moment we arrived, it truly felt like home. Everyone was warm and welcoming, which made our stay unforgettable. We even had the chance to try different rooms, each one with its own charm, all super comfortable. The beach is right there, absolutely stunning, and we had so much fun using the kayaks. Afterward, relaxing with a drink was just perfect. Please try the Kokoa shooter! Very addictive 😅… A special thanks to Jean Michel and Perle for his great hospitality. It’s the kind of place you don’t want to leave. We would love to come back! Highly recommended!

Negative: The only small hiccup was that during one night the water stopped, but it was quickly sorted out and honestly didn’t affect how much we enjoyed our stay.

Positive: Best beach in the area for swimming and walking, very beautiful and pristine, nearly no people. I believe this is one of the rare pristine spots left where you can feel the luxury of amazing nature, views and tropical paradise feeling. The hotel concept is making guest feel like at home, with accommodation and cuisine of high quality and very relaxing vibe. Everything is created and arranged and run the way I felt super comfortable and really resting. Amazing sunsets and beach views, very beautiful and clean sea, finest sand without stones or sea urchins. Jean-Michel and Perle the owners surround guests with enough and gentle care, the cooking team makes very nice lunches and dinner, where you can pre-order from choice of two dishes. Breakfast is nice as well, and you can always choose what would you like to have. In 4 days stay every meal was super delicious and interesting, with local and Malagasy cooking mixed in chefs creation. First day we stayed in Forest side house that is very clean and authentic, later we moved to Beachfront Villa that is pretty luxury with large bedroom, bathroom and terrace overlooking the sea. An extra discovery was visiting the spiny forest reserve that is being taken care of by Kokoa Sands, with Baobab trees and other plants growing in their original state - I would recommend this to everyone. For the evening or day, you can always order nice cocktails with natural tropical fruits, and the wine selection is great.

Negative: Everything was good, the place is remote so the drive is couple of hours from Toliara on raw sand road, but this is adding adventure spirit and you will pass through genuine Vezo fishermen villages on the way.

Positive: The owners of the property Jean Michel & Pearl gave us a very warm welcome & could not do enough to make sure we had everything we needed. They are very hands on & there to help in any way. We stayed in the two bedroom ground floor apartment of the villa with a very large comfortable bed & good bathroom. The position is amazing, right in a pristine white beach with beautiful turquoise sea. It’s the kind of beach where you can walk for miles without seeing another person & barely any rubbish. You certainly don’t get any hassle here from people pushing you to buy. We had a nice walk in their forest with the owners & a couple of guides. They are hoping to add a cabin where visitors can experience sleeping in the forest. This is a small unique guest house in a rural beautiful part of Madagascar well worth the effort to get there. Water needs to be used sparingly as each Jerry can full has to be hand delivered. It makes you think about every drop you use!!

Negative: We had 3 very peaceful relaxing days here so no complaints!

Positive: The location was amazing, along about an hour and a half of bumpy sand road, but when you arrive the blue of the sea and the tranquil location makes it worth it. Perle and Jean-Michel are very good hosts, and there is a restaurant and bar with open air seating. The food is good French-style food, with a daily menu that is not extensive but that is because I think the food is all locally sourced. The villa option, where you can rent the upstairs or downstairs part, is like having your own secluded beach house. Kokoa Sands is a fantastic place if you are looking for seclusion and a sense of being in an out of the way place, and which also has good food and wifi. But remember that this is a secluded place, although perfectly safe. The nightlife is chatting around the bar or watching the moon reflecting on the sea.

Negative: There was nothing we didn't like. It's an amazing place with a great vibe if you're looking for somewhere quiet. The journey to get here makes it feel special when you arrive.
